Ruth, I'm so sorry to hear about Lucy's breathing problem. Hopefully it's something easy. If she does need one, I found out they make special masks so you can give animals inhalers! We actually had to give our bun, Denali, an inhaler puff every night all winter long. Thankfully his allergies went away in the spring, but I'm anticipating a return to that routine this fall/winter, depending. Anyways, there's a cute little mask that fits over his face and it works really well, though he's not pleased about it, of course.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you and Lucy. Have fun at the canal...what a lovely lunch you'll have!!!
Cat, this must be such a hard day for you all, especially since there's still so much that needs to be done.

I'm so glad that there's extensive media coverage of the fact that there's a lot of work yet to do--I hate the thought of anyone forgetting you guys.

Anderson Cooper's doing a special on CNN too, though I don't know when it's airing today. Big cyberhugs to you

I'll be at the gym watching Oprah at the same time as you--will think of you!
Kiko about the ticker telling the truth... I have that issue a lot!

Although today it's actually HIGHER than I actually weigh, so that's the good kind of 'innaccurate ticker,' eh?

Love hearing about Abigail in K...can't believe she's old enough!!!
Ally, at what kind of school do you work? I worked at a four-year college for several years and am now working part time at a community college. I hear you on students and needing to keep them positively occupied!

Though I'm finding that CC students are actually much more adult in many ways...and they are usually holding down jobs, too, so the focus is very different. Fun, though! Happy Birthday!
BK, congrats on the 13 pounds...that's
FABULOUS!!!

You must feel so good and so much healthier!

You know, if you are wanting cookies, you can make some healthy ones--I think I posted this divine recipe for Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate chip ones. I used semi-sweet or dark chocolate in mine and that meant I could only have them once a week during my 'chocolate' day. That kept me from ODing on them. I had two on the Saturday I made them, then popped the rest into the freezer. I'd pull two out when I wanted them on a Saturday and put them in the toaster oven to heat up. SO yummy!
Oh,
Cottage, CONGRATS on Jake giving up cigarettes!!! What an exciting time!

My mom has been off them for over 10 years now after several decades of chain smoking. It's made such a difference for her! Hope it continues for Jake!

You take care and don't get Audrey's cold!
Schmoodle, isn't it wonderful to get all those compliments? It makes it SO worth it...and it's so much fun to see someone who hasn't seen you in a while!

Good for you!
Me:
Well, work has been pretty quiet...it's only the second week of school and I don't think anyone has any big assignments yet...though I heard they got an assignment back yesterday and some aren't happy with the results, so we may be seeing more customers!

(I work in a writing center tutoring students) I have my second appointment with a student planned for today which should be fun. Unfortunately, it's during my planned lunch time, so I'll have to go a little early. Eating later makes it easier for me, but I don't think a half hour will make that much difference.
Hope everyone has a great day!
