I am going to try it again.
I have not exercised in probably over three years. My main excuse is that a little over 3 years ago I became very sick and could do little else but lie or sit and try not to puke. I got out of the habit of exercising. Not that it was a BIG habit in the first place but it went from some to nothing and stayed at nothing, even though I am no longer sick, and have no excuse. It is just inertia. I have a job in which I am very sedentary. I've got to do something. I am joining a fancy gym, one with everything (including a huge pool!) I have done this before, paid my dues and then not gone. But this time I tell myself it will be different because I am not sick, I have a job in which I can be flexible with my time so I don't have to go to the gym at crowded, less desirable times, and..... I bought a wetsuit

to swim in. I love to swim, but I hate cold water (normal swimming pool temperature feels like the arctic circle to me) and now I really have no excuse.
Just the inertia to get past.
So, although I mostly like the 3fc board for interesting discussion and ideas and opinions, and I don't think I need much hand-holding and support, well, just maybe....

to the exercise world! You're right to start with something you really like, like swimming, this way you'll stick to it... Keep us posted on your progress...
