I think a lot of us have this problem. I know it is something that I struggle with a lot. By the time Friday rolls around, I am sick of cooking and all I want is to go out to eat. I just started exercising, but it seems that if I do something fun like go for a bike ride, it seems more like something to do for fun that just *happens* to be exercise too. I don't push myself, I ride like it is for fun. As far as eating, I plan all my meals out and I don't buy things like chips, so that isn't my problem. My problem is going out to eat. It's getting easier because I just cut up one of my credit cards and I put the others in a bag of water and froze them, so the only money for eating out I have to spend is cash and I don't have much of that. What I also decided was that I could have one "bad" meal a week and that will be on the weekend, whether it is eating out or just making something that is bad.

I think that cleaning the house is definitely exercise! I count everything I can as exercise. Yesterday, I helped a friend move and you can bet that I am going to put that in Fitday! Good luck.

I definitely struggle more on the weekends. I think it is the lack of routine. At work it is easy to drink water - I just keep the bottle on my desk - at home I'm moving around all the time. During the week mealtimes are sort of set thanks to work hours but the weekend it's not & I tend to forget to eat until I'm starving & then make poor choices.

LOL - I wish my trainer would let me count housecleaning as exercise - but she'll have non of it!!!

You are not alone! A lot of people have posted in the past about the same problem, including me!

The solution, for me, is to PLAN my weekend days out. I am forced to plan my weekdays because I bring everything I eat. Do the same thing on the weekend! Make your snacks, lunch, etc in the morning and put in the fridge or on a special counter. Then you will know that is what you have for the day.

As for the water, I got a water bottle and bring it EVERYWHERE with me. When I go from the living room to the computer room, it goes too. I manage to get in all my water this way, weekday or weekend!

I know exactly what you mean. Week days are great, because there's work and schedules and structure...and then the weekend hits and you don't know what to do with yourself. Nothing but a big ol' chunk of time and what better way to fill it than eating junk and watching tv all day?
The best I can do, is try to keep a little structure over the weekends. I don't sleep until noon anymore. I make sure I at least get in one day at the gym or go running. I try to plan my daytime meals & snacks knowing that I might splurge a little with my friends later. And most importantly for me, I make sure I'm doing things. Whether it's cleaning the house or going out with friends or going shopping, I just try to keep moving so I'm not spending my whole weekend sitting on my butt.

This is just an aside, but, you might want to be a little careful with that much water. That is almost 23 cups a day or almost three times what is generally recommended. It's almost a gallon and a half a day. You can seriously screw with your electrolytes with that much.
