Default Hey Everyone, Checking in!

I haven't been on the boards for a while and miss my support team. I'm down 21 lbs now but a little disappointed that it's taken 6 weeks. The first two weeks alone I lost the 14. I think I need to pay a little more attention to things I'm doing and feel the wheat carbs are my downfall. I think not checking this board on a daily basis also can be a bad thing. Without the reminder of what I'm doing and what each of you have accomplished, takes me a little off track. While I haven't really cheated I think there's more I can be doing to get the weight off a little faster. What has everyone found to be their tricks?

I think 21lbs is fantastic! that is an average of 3.5 lbs a week! Over the course of a year, that would be 182 lbs!! You are doing great. It is "slow and steady" wins the race. If you lose it too fast, you are more likely to gain it back. Just keep on going. Just remember that this is a sensible "diet" and you WILL accomplish your goal. As you lose even more, it will probably slow down a bit, but NEVER give up...you can do it.
I was at a plateau for weeks..just saw the scale either staying the same or up a few lbs every time I weighed. I finally just "gave up" on the stupid scale and didn't weight myself for a couple of weeks and finally did this morning...it was down by 9 lbs! So if the scale is "haunting" you. Put it away for about a month and then check back. The scale is just a tool and shouldn't run your life. Don't you feel much better than you did before you started SB??

The wheat/rice stuff "bothers" me too. I try to not have it too often. We had pasta yesterday for the first time in about 3 weeks. What I try to do for our meals is to have a big salad,a vegetable and a protein..then every couple of weeks I'll have a rice or pasta (those 2 are my "trigger" foods) but I find that trisquits don't set me off, so I have a few of those nearly every day with laughing cow cheese as a snack. I break each triscuit in about 3 "strips" and scoop the cheese up..when the cheese is gone, I put the rest of them back in the box.But on days when I have rice or pasta or a slice of bread, I don't have the trisquits.

You are doing great, Cann! 21 lbs, gone! You are losing slow and steady now, and eating healthier foods, and that's the correct way to keep those pounds off. You're on the road to success!

Cannwarren-

Keep up the good work, I second what Femme said. Slow and steady wins the race.

Congratulations on 21 pounds gone!! That is just fantastic. Do not let yourself get discouraged for one minute!! A few months ago, Nessa, mentioned that she is not in any race to lose the weight- if it is a true lifestyle change, she will get there. I liked that thought of not imposing a time limit on ourselves. (BTW, what happened to her?????)

There is nothing that helps me more than posting here daily- it makes all the difference with me.

Keep at it girl- you are kicking some SBD bootie!

You are doing great! I do find that this forum helps me to stay on track and to come back on track when I do stray. You will get there. It just takes time.

Thank you all for your great replies. This is exactly the motivation I need for today. The candy bowl at work is starting to look good again and I refuse to fall into that dish again. I really do love this SBD. Yesterday I was in a rush for work and wanted to get something on the way, so I called in some steamed Shrimp and veggies from the local chinese place and steamed wasn't bad at all. Not something I want everyday but it's amazing when you put your mind to something, there are things out there that aren't that bad.
