Default Solved the Problem! (Why I've always failed)

I think I may have discovered why I've always failed in the past!

I hate keeping tracked!
And I hate counting!

This is why WW never worked for me, and why I can't seem to keep going with counting calories.

Last week I was thinking about this, so I decided to try something new. Not keeping tracked. (yes, I know its silly, and stupid, and won't work for long.)

I haven't kept tracked of anything in the last week. However, I'm keeping a journal of what I eat, and staying away from certain things (candy, pop, fast food, etc..), and trying to eat mostly veggies, fruits, & protein. And the biggy portion control!. I've been watching that very carefully.

And apparently its working, I've lost 7 pounds now, and I'm actually "sticking tp plan", and feeling wonderful!

I'm just so excited that I'm finally losing, and feeling good, that I just had to post about it!!

Congratulations to you both! I don't know if either of you have read books written by Anne Barone. She has a selection of books named French Chic and she writes about how French woman would never count calories or run themselves into the ground with extreme exercising. To keep their slim figures they eat healthy whole foods, limit their sweets to a once a week treat, practice portion control and walk everywhere. This is basically what you both are doing and what I've been doing and that has helped me lose 15 pounds without wanting to kill myself with deprivation. Bon chance and bon appetite to both of you!

Good for you! I think the secret to losing weight is to find what works for you and then stick with it. Congrats on the weight loss - that's fantastic!

I am kind of doing that too. I have real trouble counting calories. I just keep a mental note of the calories of the stuff I eat when possible, then kind of guess at supper so as to not go over too much. I am losing weight, so it is working. I am glad to hear I am not the only one not calorie counting! Shew! I thought I would get scolded if I brought it up on here. Thanks for posting!

Good for you! It's awesome that you found something that's working so well for you!

I don't do any counting either... There's something about it which makes me feel like I'm on a "diet" (as in short term)... I feel restricted to the point that I can't see doing it long term.

DH and I are doing SB, which sounds similar in theory to what you are doing... It feels like a very natural way of eating to me and definitely something I can live with on a permenant basis.

It took me long enough to figure out that a permenant change in WOE was what is needed...
