Default Weekend Chat - August 11 and 12

Good morning! It's cool out on the deck this morning and the cushions are damp from the dew but sit on your towel and we'll be fine as we watch the sun poke through the maples.

I'm feeling my age this morning and fretting about some things that I can't do anything about. It's difficult being a control freak! I'm planning a nice soak in the tub, some gardening, a trip to the Library and a lengthy read on the front porch this afternoon. That should help and so will doing a few niggles.

Does anybody want some green beans? I am loaded with them. Why on earth do I plant so many? I may pick a big basket and take them to Loaves and Fishes, a soup kitchen in B., tomorrow.

What's happening on your stretch of the sand?

Smile Happy Saturday Chickies

Blankets out, sunscreen is on and just ordered up a round of pina colada....Come join me on the beach....

Looks like it's going to be cooler today...only 87. Still good enough for the pool. Water should be pretty warm by now...just how I like it. DH and I are going to bang out some painting early on then relax the rest of the day. Might even go on a date tonight.

My sister and nephew are driving up from Charlotte today so I hope to see them sometime tomorrow. He is going to the beach with his grandparents and my sister will fly to Boston for the week. Might take her to the airport after a quick lunch. We've got a function for DH tomorrow at 2 way out in Leesburg. Should be fun.

Getting ready to make some coffee and cook some turkey bacon. I wish everyone a wonderful day on the beach.

Cheers!
Sheila

Good morning, Sheila. Funny you should mention Charlotte. I have a friend there and was just looking up flights to go and visit her in October. And Schatzi's there too! I have a garden group meeting in Dearing, GA and am sort of working on a bit of a tour of The South - never been there except Florida.

I love Charlotte and if I could get my DH to move there I would in a heartbeat. You can get so much more house for your money there. Everything is perfectly manicured, even the fastfood restaurants. October will be a perfect time to go. The weather will be great, not too hot. You'll love it.

Sorry your not feeling 100% Ruth. Hopefully the soak in the tub and the relaxing day will help you feel better.

Talking

oh 87 degrees sounds divine! After the last few days of 100+, I'm ready for some 80s! (Yesterday, when I got in my car to go home, the car thermometer said 115!)

Ruth, your plan for the day sounds like exactly what I need! My few niggles have turned into mountains and we have guests coming tonight. I always enjoy having people over but boy do I hate the rush of planning and getting the house ready. Especially this week.....

little chick has her meals planned already? Way to go chickie... Here's to a successful week!

As for me, well this Sunday is the day I'm supposed to start Phase 2. I"m feeling a little worried. I would say I had success on Phase 1. About 10 pounds down and more than 2 inches from my waist. Already, clothes I haven't worn in a long time are fitting. Eating stuff is feeling a little scary....
I'm planning on going through the Phase 2 FAQs sometime today.

School starts officially Monday. My class seems pretty great... the parents on the other hand... well there seems to be a few doozies....

Good morning chicks, well I"m happy that I get to adjust my ticker down 2lbs this week. TOM is coming so I'm hoping for a whoosh after so I make my weight loss goal for the month. Wish it would just get here already so I can stop with the cramps and achey back (and tears and crankiness!).
littlechick, I really am a sleepyhead, I didn't get up until 9! I really needed it and I feel great now. This weekend is all about getting ready for the next two weeks. I am at a conference in Baltimore all next week and will be commuting every day. The week after I am in Dallas all week. So I made up menus and went grocery shopping last night, so I am loaded up with SB foods. I'm going to make some Nessa bars and the breakfast cheesecake this weekend for grab n' go breakfasts. Then lots of catching up on cleaning and laundry. The kids have been told there will be no fun until their rooms are up to snuff. By the time I get back from Dallas, it'll almost be time for school to start, Hooray! After all the work, we'll hit the pool, and try to get to the Harry Potter Imax show.

noleschick, everyone feels nervous about adding the carbs back in for Phase II - I was terrified, because that's where I messed up the first time I tried SBD. But if you follow the good advice here, you'll do great, and it's so nice to have more choices. Sorry to hear about the crazy parents. I always feel for teachers and others who have to deal with some of those crazies. People are really freaky when it comes to their kids!
littlechick, it's a great feeling to know your week is all planned out, isn't it?
Shequila, have fun with your family visit!
Ruth, I hope you are feeling better after your bath. Please box up some of those beans for us, they are our favorite, and I've never gotten the nerve to plant any myself. Charlotte really is a beautiful city. I love to visit there whenever I'm down that way.

You chicks have a wonderful Saturday!

Part of the reason I'm feeling so down today is that a "friend" told me things about her husband last night - not infidelity but stealing from the Township! I'm in a real dilemma over this. I really can't break her confidence but wish she'd left me out of it.

good morning everyone! I think i take the official crown for sleepyhead - i just got up around 11. I was up late last night playing Zelda on our Wii - Wow, that game is addictive.
I am finally over the SBD "flu", and am feeling so much better. My energy is back, and I have bit more optimistic outlook on life.

I have to spend most of day packing/moving things from our house into our storage unit because the painters come on Monday to paint, then the carpet peope come, then the house goes on the market!!

Morning everyone!! My weather is like Noles..guess we can suffer together. The rain stopped few days ago and temps hovering around 100 without heat index factored in. miserable.

Since I took yesterday afternoon off, I was bombarded with work, but got up early and got a handle on it, so I'm off to the tub for a soak, then housework and will try to figure out what we are going to eat today. I think it's going to be one of those "fridge diving" days to get it cleaned out. I have some leftover black beans, so thinking about quesadillas with them and maybe some portobello mushrooms and salad..whatever...looks like the rest of the day is going to be a whatever day too!

Ya'll have a great weekend.

Good mornin' chicks! And it's a good morning because I've reached my initial weight goal!

But I still have some padding to lose, so I'm going to change that to 125...but I just want to see the "Congratulations!" on my signature a few days.

Ruth, hope you have a nice read on the porch today! What will you be reading?

Shequila, enjoy the pool!

LC, love all the new art you've been posting! Have a nice weekend!

Noleschick, way to go with your success on Phase 1! Phase 2 will be great! It's all about adding food back sloooowly. By the way, what grade do teach?

Schmoodle, wishing the whoosh fairy visits you soon! Congrats on the 2lbs!!

Sandstripedcj, good luck getting the house together! I'm glad to hear the SB flu has passed!

Missed you in the cross-post Femme! I'm also trying to figure out what to do with some black beans!

Good luck with all that work. When does school start back for you?
