Question feeling full... feeling guilty???

I'm wondering if anyone else feels this way. I follow the WW plan (on my own with stuff from the last time I joined) anyway.. even if I dont go over my points but have a "full" feeling I automaticlly think I've ruined the day. Like if I'm not starving I'm doing it wrong!

Thumbs up

Yup, I feel exactly the same way! I'm a (relatively) new diabetic and have been limiting carbs for the first time and very closely watching my 2-hr post meal blood sugars. If I eat enough to make me feel full I really sweat it out during those two hours, thinking that I've totally blown it. *Very* guilty feeling, bleh.

Funny thing is, my blood sugars are always fine at those moments. It's when I think I've done well that they can surprise me.

I'm exactly the same way. I had a nectarine tonight for dessert and it kind of put me over the top full-wise and I've been sitting here feeling kind of guilty about it. Guilty over a nectarine that didn't even put me over my calories for the day; how weird is that? Pretty sure I didn't get fat from eating too many nectarines.

I feel that way too! I went to a nice restaurant today...Had salad, soup, and half a grilled chicken sandwich...Didn't even finish it all. But I felt SO full and I felt like I messed up big time, event though I avoided some favorites like fried oysters and shrimp and french fries etc...

Yep, yep, yep. I just consider it yet another sign of my unhealthy relationshp with food. I can be under my calories by a lot, but there are certain things I've eaten where I felt the guilt, felt like I had ruined my whole day, when in reality, it was no big deal.

I hate guilt! It's my constant companion...

For some reason I just found this hilarious! I've been laughing over it for about 15 minutes now and can't quit giggling. I may have to incorporate this gem in my signature if you don't mind?

That was really a light bulb moment for me when I realized I could eat healthy and still stay full and satisfied. Now I love it when I go to out to eat and stay on my program and leave full and not stuffed and miserable. I'm really learning to listen to my body and just stop when I'm full. For me that has been huge!

Yep, I had those guilty thoughts in the beginning. I'm happy that they're gone now. If you're like me...and many of us....years of crash dieting have taught us that dieting=hungry. However, I've lost 26 pounds without one day of hunger when I'm on-plan.

You're welcome to it. I'm a calorie counter so they all count but really, it's not the fruits and vegetables we need to worry about. If I could substitute a nectarine for every cadbury caramello bar I've eaten in my life, I'd weigh 112 pounds.

Interesting thread. I am far enough into this that I actually feel the opposite way. I spent a period of time when I was always under 1000 calories per day and exercising three hours or more a day, and I worked really hard to make myself eat enough to feel full. Now - I feel guilty when I don't feed my body enough to feel satisfied. Incidentally, though, there is a big difference between full and bloated, and I do feel guilt over pushing myself so far I feel bloated. I'm much less likely to do it with healthy food, but I do remember an occasion where I felt so munchy that I ate my high-fiber, good-for-me cereal and raspberries until I felt ready to vomit. Not a good feeling.
