Red face Hungry Like a Wolf :(


Hello,

I am having 3/4 cup of special K, a bannana, and 7 strawberries for breakfast (about 300calories) at about 7:30am and i am hungry enough to eat garbage at about 10am. last weel i was having a peanutbutter and banana sandwich and i would't be hungry until 12pm.

I switched to cereal for breakfast beause i can eat peanut butter all day if i let myself and i wanted to diversify my diet.
So in short the question is whay do y'all eat for breakfast ?

i would suggest throwing in a morning snack. i dont know what kind of plan you follow, but after about a year of calorie counting i started also eating every 2-3 hours. one of my goals is to never actually get really hungry, because i know i'll eat too much if i do. so, i have planned small meals all through the day while also counting calories.

I eat Eggo Plus Blueberry and Fiber (two) almost every day. When I have a very early start, I add a banana - either with breakfast, or about 10:30-11am. I agree that a mid-morning snack works wonders - just choose wisely!

Every now and then (read: monthly hormonal times!) I'll have two pieces of toast with 2 tbsp Peanut Butter and 1tbsp of jam for breakfast; this week I've actually been eating a heartier breakfast, a lesser lunch and a light dinner, so I have been having a whole wheat bagel with peanut butter and jam... I swear, by 1pm I could STILL wait for lunch - VERY filling, and VERY satisfying! Of course, it does mean, for me, a much lighter meal later on.

Well, that was a ramble - hope it's helpful!

There is no protein or fat in your breakfast, unless you are having milk in your cereal. Experiment with adding a little protein and fat to your meal. Also, I agree with the others on a snack. I eat something every time I notice a little hunger. It really keeps me on an even keel. Letting myself get too hungry is a recipe for disaster.

I have a cup of Fiber One cereal (120 cals), 1/3 cup mueslix (100 cals) and a half cup of blueberries (41 cals) and 1/2 cup 1% milk (51 cals) most days for bfast. So I have a very filling bfast for 312 cals.

I eat around 7:00 and have a snack at 10:00 AM. I will have a stick of mozzarella cheese and some grape tomatoes, or a hard boiled egg, or some fruit. I also use Kashi Go Lean crunch as a snack.

You really need to eat something every few hours. I really try not to let myself go too long without a snack or meal if I can help it. Planning has helped me ALOT.

Most cereals make me incredibly hungry shortly after eating them. Pretty much the only one that works for me is Kashi Go Lean (not the crunch version - that one makes me want to eat the whole box it is so tasty). It has lots of fiber plus protein. Protein and fiber are what will keep you full for hours.

Also, as others suggested you can plan to have a small snack at around 10 or so. One of the most dangerous things to do while dieting is to let yourself get too hungry. That is when we make our worst decisions and reach for the nearest thing.

I've been having protein shakes for breakfast and don't usually get hungry for lunch until after 12. (thanks for the recipe Heather, I've added it to my collection)

Today I had cereal and was starving by 10. Back to the shakes for me.

I usually eat a double serving of Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds (about 220 calories) with 3/4 cup of skim milk. Occasionally I have oatmeal - again a double serving, which I fix with cinnamon, brown sugar and about a Tablespoon of walnuts (don't remember the calories but it's about 5 WW pts. That's at 6:30 a.m. I usually have a snack at 10 or 10:30 - usually a banana or a 100 calorie chewy granola bar. I found the mid-morning snack necessary in the beginning, but the more days in a row I eat OP and behave myself, the less necessary they become. For some reason, those two cereals stay with me longer than anything, including meats and other protiens. Maybe it's the nuts?
