Default 30 Something Daily chat, Thur 8/2/07

wooohoooo i get to start the chat. That usually doesn't happen since i don't want Roo's ungodly hours LOL. I'm happy. I have Thur and Friday off. I'm leaving Sat for my training, and Banfield believes that since i'm leaving for training (which is work)....i need 2 days off prior to leaving. WOOHOOOO. So this am i actually got up at a reasonable time. I wanted to go and take my dog to Kennesaw National mountain. From what a lot of ppl say...its a great hiking local. So i think we'd both enjoy it. I'll bring lots of water for me and her just in case. I'll check back later...and mo i promise i'll post those pics today...just have to find the camera (waiting for DH to txt me back telling me where he put it)
bye all

Good Morning all -

Enjoy that hike GatorGal - I know my dog would love that. I need to take him more places like I used to. Leslie is getting older now, so maybe that time will come.

Lost another couple of pounds this week. I am at 269.0 this morning. Sounds like a HUGE number, but atleast I am headed down and not up. Felt so good just to be out of the 270's. Maybe this will help remotivate me to get my butt on the eliptical.

Have a great day everyone!!

Angie

Good morning everyone. We've got a busy day today: Alex has a dentist appt (yippy!), we have to pick up the veggies and we have karate class. Whew. DH has a second interview for a new job tonight. He was on the wall about accepting if they offer, but I think he has decided to accept. He has a lot of leeway where he is now (he was with the company when it was just the two of them and now there are over 15 employees) so that will be hard to give up, but he's bored.

I've been doing bad with my veggies. They are drowning me in squash. I like it, but I can't eat 10 huge squash a week. I let some spoil and I feel bad about it. I think I will make some vegetable soup if they give me more today. I really hope they don't give us so much of it if they do!

Hello to the newbies!! We are happy to have you here.

OK, gotta go jump in the shower and get my crazy day started.

Mornin' Kids!

I just finished reading yesterday's notes and you guys are GREAT!!! Everyone seemed to be in a punchy mood yesterday. Could be because MELINDA has the internet at her nifty crib now!!! We love hearing from you Girl! You are just too much fun.

Loved reading Roo and Big John's comments. LOL at your story Big John as that reminds me *so* much of my DH. I'll find "big" news months after the fact and will grill him non-stop. Not that he ever has any information to give me...

Melinda are you hungry? I'm amazed that you were able to stop eating 1/4 of a portion. I'm so glad that your meds are straigtening themselves out a bit and you're see results on the scale finally. What will you be like when you've gotten all of your energy back??? Look out world! And Sean and Steve and Dave and ;-)

Alicia ~ I laughed too at your hoola hoop story. My 6 yr. old is amazing to watch. I've never been able to hoola so I asked her try and teach me. Hah! She had the most confused look on her face watching my many attempts.

Hanna ~ Wishing you Happy Birthday! Did yesterday turn out to be a good day for you? I can't imagine what you're going thru right now. Try and get as much rest as possible these days. You'll need it once Sean comes back home.

Kerri ~ is Hawaii still the vacation plan?

Michelle ~ saw the pictures and that baby is gorgeous. Love those little rolls in her sweet little arms.

GG ~ yippee on the weight loss! Way to go! I knew that it was just a matter of time before you got your groove back.

Angie ~ good to see you and congrats on the weight loss! It is hard for me to start using indoor equipment. I prefer to be outside as much as possible as I get so bored with the stuff that I have here at home. We set a mini-gym in the basement and I've yet to get on any of it.

Sheila ~ how's it going on the homefront? Hey, the gems sounded sweet for your birthday! Rubies are beautiful. Did DH give you anything???

I met a friend last night and the two of us went out to dinner. Italian restaurant... tutto mare... 'nuff said. I rarely go out to restaurants so this was a treat and I enjoyed every bite (only ate half and sent the rest home with her as I didn't want it around here today). I needed to get out soooooo bad. I've really missed some of my friends from our old neighborhood and still haven't met many here. I finally did meet my next door neighbor this week and she seems very nice. So it felt good to put on some nice clothes (that were tight the last time that I wore them) and meet a friend. I left early to pick up school supplies for the kids (talk about sticker shock!). School supplies have changed a great deal since I went to school. After tackling that, I was so in need of a glass of red wine and good conversation with a friend... I guess that I didn't realize how much I needed it.

My mind is a blank (nothing new there;-) and I can't remember who else wrote yesterday... Hope that everyone has an excellent Thursday!

Joan

We all need a break now and then. The other night I had an appointment late and didn't get to hit the grocery store for milk and a few other things until after 8:00 PM. I ran into my neighrbors there and they asked if we'd had dinner. Matt had already fed the kids, but we hadn't ate. They said they had a bottle of wine from a semi-local winery and they were going to grill some steak and crab legs. We didn't eat until 9:00 but how nice to have a glass of wine with good friends along with some steak, crab legs and a nice big salad. Great wine too -- I will have to hit that winery again. I think we forget to take "adult" time often enough. It's important.

Angie ~ spur of the moment get-togethers are the best! DH and I used to live in that kind of neighborhood and I miss it. I'm looking forward to school starting and meeting new neighbors. Steak, crab legs, salad and wine... sounds so nice! We used to live in a very family oriented community and every fall we'd have a block party in the little park that is smack dab in the middle of the neighborhood. It was sort of Mayberryish. We've now moved to a much bigger neighborhood where everyone keeps to themselves. We live right around the corner from the school so I know that lots of the other houses surrounding us have kids. DH makes homemade ice cream a couple times a year and we used to have big ice cream parties. I'm looking forward to doing that sort of thing again.

Big John: I am still LMFAO so hard here in MI I'm surprised ya'all can't hear me in all States around the U.S. and Roobooshmoo up in the arctic north! You just totally have the sense of humor I try to emulate! LOVE IT. Still cracking up!

Joan: I love the new little ticker froggie poo. Very cute! Yeah, I've been able to stick to my portions pretty well...I think my stomach has actually shrunk a little so I'm not able to stuff my chipmunk cheeks as full. The wonderfullest thing about this working out and dieting is that my butt is shrinking...and that is usually the last thing to go. Of course, the girls up top are shrinking too...and they weren't monsters to begin with...so that's a little sad. Pretty soon they'll look like min-me torpedoes hanging down lookin' at my toes through those little eyeballs. LOL TMI ALERT, TMI ALERT!

Angie: Friggin' awesome on the loss baby!

Kerri: WTF were you still doing up @ 0300 hours? Jeesh! Actually, I woke up about then too and was awake for a couple of hours. Needless to say, I'm whipped right now!

Roo: Again, thanks for your support! Love you bunches!

Ok all, it's so hot you could fry an egg on the sidewalk already...mmmm and maybe a couple pounds of bacon....and a steak....oh and add some onion rings to that too....oh, sorry. So my point was, I'm going to change into my suit and worship that big yellow thang in the sky before it gets too cloudy...which it's starting to do already.... I'm 1/2 way through the #12 Janet Evanovich (?) book..such fun reading...so I think I'll try to finish that off before I hit the bar for drinks w/the girls...I can have like 2 and no dinner...in fact I can't even eat another bite all day since I was a buttmunch and ate all my fat @ breakfast! I was craving a bacon egg & cheese bisquit from McDonald's....so I caved. Oh well...water water water everywhere and tooo tooooo much to drink!

Love ya all. HOPE I can sleep tonight! Waiting for the check to pass through it's hold stage so that I can access funds to buy that friggin' bed and snooze hard for a change! Yeehaw.... MO

hey all..i'm back...and every leg muscle hurts. OMG....the mt was 1800 ft elevation. Only a mile hike...oh yeah...but a mile STRAIGHT UP!!! I really felt out of shape. It took me 45 min to go a mile and had to stop every 5-10 min to catch my breath. oh yeah...that's right...savannah doesn't even have hills let alone mountains LMAO. my dog LOVED it and i loved it. I did get a little lost (they don't have the best signage). So i ended up taking another trail....and 3 hours after parking the truck...i finally got back to the starting point. OMG me and the dog we very very tired. But man it was pretty. This is a smaller mountain, right in Marietta. only 20 min from my home. So it is great for a morning hike and you can still come back home and do stuff...that is if you have any ounce of energy LMAO. I think however, i need to get a pack for my dog i saw at petsmart. I think she needs to start carring her own water. I brought a camelback that only holds 1 liter and we finished that off within an hour. The last hour of our hike was flat, and was slow since the poor dog was very tired...i had to go at her pace. But i was every so grateful i put a gatorade in a cooler and left it in the truck...it tasted soooo good after that long hike. I may do it again...if i can move (and now that i've figured out the trails..i won't make it 3 hrs tomorrow). There are over 16 miles of hiking trails...its awesome. Its also a really cool place for history...its a sight of a huge civil war battle field. so pretty cool. I then had a nice salad and grilled chicken for lunch..however, i'm hungry again...i think i burned a few calories with that hike LOL. I think after looking at mo's post...and all the talk of food my stomach realized it was still hungry. I think later tonight i'll try to mow the lawn if i have the energy...push mower with 1/2 acre takes about 2 hrs. So we'll see.
John - sorry about the bad traffic and getting late to work. Hang in there bud.
angie -congrats on the weight loss...way to go. An d i miss random bbq...they are great!
Hang in there mo- and stay away from McD's LOL....oh btw...i a few weeks ago i stated back to drinking coke...well i stopped a week ago again...and feel so great...i know coke makes me feel crappy so why did i go back...oh well i'll just try to keep it up
joan - glad u had fun out...sorry you haven't met more neighbors..i'm in the same boat...i've only met 2 so far and our block seems very quite...which is good but sort of boring LOL
karen - i'll keep my fingers crossed...no more squash LMAO

oh yeah...mo here's the pics with my new do. They were taking July 1 for our anniversary. The first pic is of the really great resturant that overlooks asheville and the mountains the second pic is when we took a carriage ride in the biltmore...that's my new house in the backgroung ( i wish...its the biltmore mansion)

GG: OMG, you are such a hottie in those pics! I love them-and the coloring too...I don't remember you saying you got highlights or lowlites...but maybe it's natural. Regardless, killer. Girl you've got some serious awesome muscle there! Awww....our little GG is such a hottie! Yeah, I'd love to live in that pimped out turn of the century villa too...but I wouldn't want to clean that f er! LMAO! Also, FRIGGIN' awesome on the climbing of Mt. Kilaminjaro or whatever! I know, it wasn't that and that's not how you spell it anyway....just having fun. Dang girl...you kicked this day into overdrive...I bow down in front of your greatness! Yeehaw! Now I HAVE to get my butt out for an afternoon run...especially 'cause it's girls' night out @ a local brew pub tonight! I'll be taking more pics tomorrow when I'm out with some more girls...then I'll post some. Not that losing almost 12 pounds is even noticeable in a pic...but maybe a bit in my face...hmmmm...we'll see.

Ok, back to the sun, reading and watering the lawn.. MO
