Default stupid TOM and question

Well I weighed myself yesterday, I woke up feeling fat and disgusted with myself and I just felt like I noticed every flaw and I'm usually not like that so I weighed myself and it said I had gained 5 lbs. About 30 minutes later I went to the bathroom and realized why. Hopefully in 7 days it'll all be gone plus some more to go with it.

My question though is last night around 11pm I was reading and I started getting hungry. I had already had all of my calories for that day so I just decided to ignore it and went to bed about an hour later still feeling hungry. Should I have went ahead and eaten even though it would have put me over calories or is it ok to just ignore it? What would you all have done?

I typically start to get hungry around bedtime on most days. I just drink some water and go to bed. I try not to eat after dinner because then I continue to snack all evening.

My theory on night time hunger, If I can fall asleep I wasn't all that hungry, and if I can't I'll find something that has "filling" power without a lot of calories (a cup of warm milk or broth based soup, an apple...)

I definately agree that your 5 pound gain was from your TOM...and I think you did the right thing to just go to bed. If you were really hungry, you could have had something like a cup of yogurt or something but nothing with carbs like bread. But if you can ignore and sleep, then you weren't really that bad off.

I do that as well if I'm hungry in the evening. If it's real hunger and my body really needs food, it won't let me sleep that easily. If it does, then it means I was better off without the food. I know we shouldn't let our bodies get hungry for too long, but in that case, I think you very likely made the right choice.

Thanks everyone. I posted this in the Mini goal forum too because I was thrilled, but I went and weighed myself this morning after I got dressed and I weighed 190. Now normally this wouldnt mean anything but I am still TOM and only day 3 (i go for 7-9) and I'm retaining a lot of water (my fingers look like little sausages) So needless to say I was rather excited. Apparently I have found my calorie range.

Also, I generally try to guage my hunger level, that night I think it was more that I wanted to munch, but last night there was no ignoring my stomach so I decided to go ahead and have something to eat which was OK because I have almost 300 calories left to use. I just have to be careful sometimes when I ignore my hunger because I have low blood sugar. If i go for too long without food I'm not pleasant and I get really sick. So yeah. Anywho thanks again for all your responses. You girls are great!
