I think I must favour my fathers side of the family because I look nothing like my sisters and mother - in regards to body shape.
I'm a pear with wide hips and a defined waist. I also tend to gain muscle tone very quickly and have strong thighs and calves. Any weight goes to my bum, hips and lower stomach.
My mum and sisters are apples - they have straight up and down no curve, no bum figures and any weight they gain goes straight to their stomachs so they tend to have large bellies but still have slim legs and a small backside. They also don't gain muscle easily.
I inherited all of the "bad" aspects of both my parents. I have my mom's thick arms, wrists, and ankles (if those were smaller, I would look MUCH thinner in general). On my dad's side, I inherited a thick neck and a tendency to gain weight around my middle. I'm big all over so I have big thighs just by definition, but they are proportionally smaller than the rest of my body.
the women of both sides are the family are short/average height, and slender or fit. however, my sister inherited my mom's body petite, straight up and down shape. except, she has broader shoulders and more muscular. i'm the only pear in my family, i have teeny upper body, slim waist, but curvy hips, thighs, and a booty.
The women on my mom's side of the family have small to medium bone structures, but the women on my dad's side are a mixed bag: they have anywhere from small to large, depending the on the individual woman. My dad's bone structure is definitely large and he stores all his fat in his stomach, which is where a good majority of mine is, as well.
My sister got my mom's bone structure - small to medium with HUGE breasts, a HUGE ***, and a decent waist. She's not skinny, but she's definitely not fat. She's 5'4" and around 130 pounds - when I was thin/fit, I actually looked quite a bit thinner than her, and once I hit GW, I'll look much more lean, again. She looks sort of "thick" for her bone structure, but most people would define her as average. She could be slim and fit if she wanted to, but she NEVER exercises and eats all the time. (I think I'm just a chunky monkey.)
All of the women on my mom's side carry their weight in their middle. When they start to lose weight, they get very curvy, and no matter what, the bottom always seems to stay quite round. I have been overweight forever, so I am not sure what my body is going to turn into...but I am betting it's gonna me pretty similar. Which is fine for me!
I got my body type from my dad. My mom is very petite with very small bone structure, she weighs around 125, I would look practically emaciated at that weight. My dad and aunts on his side however are big and thick (my mom always said they have "tree stump" legs which I got too!) My 2 sisters also tend to take after my dad's side, none of us are petite like my mom except for my older brother!
on my mom's side you are either fat or slim, either blond and blue eyed slim or brown eyed and dark hair put on the wieght quickly - guess which side I got
on my dad's side I would call them generally thick (the word I keep reading here) - so not like fat - average I would say - I def got my bone structure enhanced by both sides - big - big hands/feet/head etc. I have my dad's smile but people say I look like my mom - I def gained the weight from her side But I got to be a bit taller than her
I gain muscle quickly - which could be from both sides - my mom's side is farmer stock - my dad's side is russian stock - actually I'm guessing that is from my mom's side- though my mom never works out and doesn't seem to like to.
i'm a literal mix of body types between my parents, i'm average height/frame but i have big legs/bust/butt. compared to my cousins i'm smaller than them except for 1 only cause shes the youngest.
most of my relatives are larger height/weight/frame i'm an oddity to them.
well, i would say my mom, but i really don't know. my mom is the biggest one out of all her sisters. her mom has always been slim, but my great grandmother was always overweight...in a grandmotherly way lol. i don't think i get it from my dad's side because his only sister is small and his mom was bigger but not all her life and she had a different shape than me....so, yep, mom's side it is.
My entire immediate family is obese. My grandfather on my mom's side is normal sized, and my grandmother on my mom's side struggled with super-highs and super-lows all her life. My grandfather on my mother's side is very heavy, too. Genetics really weren't in my favor when I was trying to lose weight.
yes!! our family is 100% european, so we have a trim waist but round hips and ALL of our weight is in our belly! but thankfully everything else evens out,e xcept that darn belly!! and especially our arms tend to get chubby........
