Default Do you reward yourself?

Well? Do you? I try too, makes this weight loss journey much more fun! For example every 10lbs I buy a new article of clothing that will work for more then just a few weeks ( like a shirt that ties in the back ). Today I treated myself to a total new hair cut! I totally love it! I figured I was 5lbs away from my 1/2 way mark I might as well go for it!

Yep That's what I plan on doing. Stuff like maybe getting pedicures, manicures, or massages, or facials.

I've made charts for weight loss and exercise. Actual sticker-charts! I've been using the weight chart for some time. 5 stickers (lbs) I buy a $5 item, and each 20 stickers, I buy something bigger. My next big loss, I've decided on a small MP3 player to use while exercising. The exercise chart is new and I haven't used it yet, but I'm keeping similar rules. I put everything in a binder that I keep everything in. My food logs, my journal, diet recipes, diet and exercise articles and information for meal planning... I call it my "me" book. I have it in one of those binders that you can slide a cover sheet in the cover. I'm going to print out a photo of me, and put it in the cover. As I lose weight, I'll take more photos and put them collage style on the cover page.

Colleen -

I LOVE your idea of the "me" binder. I am going to copy that idea if you don't mind. What a fabulous thing.

Thanks, Angie

I set one reward as a full-body massage for every 25 pounds lost.

I bought myself a beautiful necklace at hitting 80.

I had told myself I would get a Wii for 100 but now that I am on the second floor in an older house I am worried how loud it will be for my neighbor if I am jumping around in my living room a lot.

Angie -

I don't mind at all.

I'm having a lot of fun with it, and it's become very special to me. My husband has seen me working on it, but I haven't really shown him it (and probably won't, at least not until I'm much closer to goal, or get to the point I wouldn't be crushed if he thought it was "cute" or "silly" even if in a good way). It started as a personal diary, then a reference book component was added, then a scrap book, and now it almost symbolizes me (which is how it went from my diet journal to my "me" book). As I get thinner, it gets fatter, so it might be a set of encyclopedias by the time I get to goal.

I started it in a 1/2" binder with just my weight chart, food log and journal. I kept finding things I wanted to add to it, so recently I decided I needed a new binder, and went to Walmart.

There's a lot of cool stuff in the back to school aisles. I found these subject dividers that instead of being just plain white or brown paper with paper or plastic tabs - were shiny colored cardstock in pastel colors and a floral design. The last divider was also a pocket folder. What you can't see in the store, is that the dividers are pretty on one side, and on the other are ruled, so you can use it for notes.

In the Dollar Tree, I found a 3-hole punch that fits into the binder, and I bought one of those vinyl zippered pouches (for pencils) that can be clipped into the binder. I keep all of my stickers in there, with one pen. I even picked my pen carefully - I like rollerballs, fine felt tips and gel pens that just seem to glide when you write.
