Default newbie from PA

Hi everyone, I have read many posts but have never posted . Finally got up the nerve to do so today and quite frankly I`m so hungry I`m trying to keep my hands busy! After losing alot of weight fairly quickly, I have been stuck at my current weight(give or take 5 lbs and give and take...) for 6 months. I have always been an emotional eater and with a 20 year marriage ending,very sick parents,and being worried about the possibility of my son going to Iraq I am having a very difficult time. I have even started smoking again because I`m deathly afraid of gaining the weight back and I need to put something in my mouth. lol .None of my friends or family members have had a weight problem so they don`t seem to understand and I`m supposed to be the strong one. Another problem that I seem to have recently is sleeping unless I load up on the carbs I just can`t sleep. Any advice would be appreciated and thank you to eveyone here for all of the great posts that I have had the privilege of reading.

Welcome! I hope you are able to find all the support you need here! It sounds like you're going through a pretty rough patch, and hopefully you'll be able to find some encouragement here.

Welcome to the board!

STOP SMOKING! Chew sugar free gum if you need something in your mouth.

Try picking up some books at your local library and see what might fit with your dieting style. I've just been reading through Bob Greene's The Best Life and he has some great ideas for emotional eating. I believe he's published other books as well. I love the library because that way if a book doesn't fit at all for me, I haven't invested anything but a walk down there to return it!
