Ingredients help

  • Could anyone take a look at the ingredients listed below and tell me if they think any of these would be acceptable for phase 2. I am not familar with some of the items such as corn barley malt syrup. I e-mailed the company for nutritional info and haven't gotten a response, so I thought maybe you gusy could help. Thanks so much!!

    PEANUT BUTTER COOKIE
    Ingredients: Crunchy Natural Peanut Butter, Organic Rolled Oats, Corn Barley Malt Syrup, Organic Oat Flour, Expeller Pressed Canola Oil, Honey, Pure Vanilla Extract, Baking Soda, Sea Salt.

    OATMEAL RAISIN COOKIE
    Ingredients: Organic Rolled Oats, Organic Barley Flour, Organic Oat Flour, Corn Barley Malt Syrup, Expeller Pressed Canola Oil, Organic Raisins, Coconut, Molasses, Spices, Pure Vanilla Extract, Baking Soda.

    SPIRULINA BEE BAR
    Ingredients: Organic Rolled Oats, Honey, Barley Malt Syrup, Organic Maple Syrup, Bee Pollen, Organic Hawaiian Spirulina, Rose Hips, Spices, Soy Lecithin, Calcium Carbonate, Magnesium Carbonate, Pure Vanilla Extract.
  • I would think the honey, molasses, and organic maple syrup would have sugar. I'm no expert at the SBD yet though.
  • Honey, molasses, and maple syrup are all no nos, just sugar by another name. I would assume corn barley malt syrup is similar to high fructose corn syrup- which is a huge culprit to weight gain. Avoid it like a plague.
