Is there such a thing as vegan boullion or some sort of flavoring to add to soups, and stuff? I want to make some vegetable soup with no real chicken boullion.
Rapunzel is the one I use and I love it. I used to only find it at WHole Foods or Wild Oats, but I requested that my regular grocery store carry it and they now stock it!
Yes, there are lots of vegetable stocks available. You can buy liquid ready-to-use veg stock in a can or carton, or use powdered or cube bullion. I always read the ingredients because a lot of the powders and cubes contain MSG, trace dairy (casein, whey), or unpronounceable mystery chemical ingredients. Imagine brand has a no-chicken broth (I think that's what it's actually called) that I like a lot. You can find it at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's if you have either of those in your area
I have used several vegetable broth cubes and powders. I even bought a chipotle pepper flavored bouillon cube that was really good. I can't guarantee it was vegetarian, as I no longer have the box, but I'm pretty sure it was was. I remember salt, garlic, and chipotle peppers were among the ingredients.
Knorr brand has a lot of powdered vegetable soup mixes I also use for soups and flavoring rice. I've used the onion, leek, vegetable, and spinache mixes.
I bought a vegetable broth powder at Whole Foods and it is really good. Very flavorful, much more than chicken broth. I recommend perusing Whole Foods as well as your regular stores to see what is available.
I've used vegetarian and vegan bouillons, together with various types of vegetable stock - I'm not sure whether you have the same brands over there (I often use supermarket own brands for the stock cubes anyway) or whether they're as common, but there should be plenty of choice.
