Not sure where to put this, but yesterday was three years from the day I decided to change my life. 75 lbs, 14 super foods, 6 clothing sizes, 2 cup sizes later and 1 entire new wardrobe later, I am happy to report that my new healthy lifestyle is now just my lifestyle - a habit that is easy to maintain.
Considering how horrible my old eating habits were, if I can do this, I firmly believe anybody can do this. I wish I had known 20 years ago that I just had to eat better foods, estimate calories and food journal - I would have saved myself 20 years of self-loathing and not doing things because I didn't like the way I looked.
Congratulations and happy anniversary! (though it really was a re-birthday too, wasn't it? ) Thank you for sharing all your wisdom and kindness over the years -- you've inspired more people than you could ever realize.
Awww Glory. 3 years. That's just remarkable. From the way you always sound, I've no doubt you will be celebrating this anniversary/rebirth-day for many, many years to come. All your years to come in fact. You sure do know how to work it - don't you?!
Congratulations on making the life change that you have and for doing it so well, for so long, and for passing along all that you've learned to all of us here at 3FC.
Thanks for writing this. I sometimes get stuck on how long this might take. I don't see that I'll be the one that reaches goal weight in a year or less like some people have. But it doesn't matter! As long as goal weight is reached, that's what is important.
What an inspiration! 3 years! Can't wait until I can say the same!
I should lose about 70 pounds (going for 50 at the moment then we'll see how good I'm still doing) just like you so you make it that much more desirable....and realistic! I can't wait!
And I agree..it HAS to be a lifestyle change. If you plan on it being a diet you're only going to lose it and gain it back. I can already tell in my month of doing this that it is totally getting easier to say no to the bad things and find things to replace them. And I enjoy the good things!
Thanks for the motivation and the great story! Way to go on the 3 years!
