Hope I get some help here. I really have been trying the last week to lose weight. Counting points (wanted to do LA weight loss but couldn't make the deadline and loss the $3.00 a week) well this week I actually gained 3 pounds. Yes I know it is my friend coming but I am feeling a little upset. I thinking of diet pills (I used dextrim and it help before but know I am on thyriod med) thanks for any input
As we all know, when tom comes 'round it's not just our weight that fluctuates crazily--so does our mood. Pay no attention to the dexatrim thoughts or the discouragement, just hang in there with your plan as best you can and next week will be better!
Most likely it's water retention because of TOM coming--but it's hard to say without knowing what you've been eating. You say you're counting points--so it must be WW? Anyway, one week may not be enough to see a loss, depending on your intake. Hang in there! Don't give up on your plan!
Ask yourself if you're prepared to take Dexatrim for life. Because I'm assuming that any weight you lose you want to keep off, right? Diet pills might help to lose weight, but they won't help you maintain it. Only changing your lifestyle does that. So like others said, stay off the scales during this time and realize the weight gain for what it is, and that it will get back to normal in a few days.
Wait out TOM, try to keep your chin up, and remember that it happens to nearly all of us that time of month! Just keep up the good work, and you'll see those results!
I gain roughly two to three pounds when tom comes around but i lose it pretty quick the next week as long as I keep eating right. So just stick with it an put those scales away for the week!
LAWL is only $3 a week? For some reason, I thought it was WAY more expensive than that - I figured it was wayyyy out of my budget range.
I doubt I'd go LAWL, though, because commercialized diets set me up for failure. I know a lot of people need to stick to a specific plan to lose weight; things CAN be easier if it's all laid out for you, but I hate sticking to guidelines - it's the little rebel in me.
Diet pills... you could always go on Alli. Hydroxycut works pretty well as far as results go, but it will make you shaky and moody (it did that to me, anyway - I think I lost some friends )
Yeah, our hormones and really give us bad reading on the scales don't they? And maybe if you just keep that in mind and focus on eating right, getting your water in, and moving a bit more, it may help! Don't get discouraged!! It's normal! I second the no diet pills... it's not a billion dollar industry for nothing and I refuse to contribute to that since I'm positive diet and diet and diet and exercise work!
I'm not sure if you will really see results after just one week of dieting. I can't remember if i did or not. But i do know that even now, i have a week or two where i just stay the same and then drop one or two pounds. You just have to stay strong, dedicated and keep at it and you will see results. And I will add in my two cents about TOM....i also gain up to about 3 pounds that week. It can be really frustrating to see the weight gain, but you have to learn to take it in stride or at least stay off the scales that week. But i can't stay off. so i just have to keep checking it every day and watch how my weight fluctuates from day to day. I don't think diet pills are really the right way to go. If you are having trouble with being hungry during the day, then you need to make sure you have healthy snacks on hand during the day. If you are eating a smaller breakfast and lunch and dinner, then there is no reason that you can't have a small snack in between the meals. Just keep your calories (or points) to whatever your set goal is. Eat good snacks like yogurt, raisins, nuts, cheese...fruit...things like that. Good luck!! And don't give up. The only failure is giving up!!!

Good morning! Don't worry about weight loss over the course of just one week. Thats too short of a time of gauge any permanent loss. You'll do just fine and succeed if you keep up good habits and be patient.
