Default Calorie King here?

Hi,
I am new (I quess you knew that) and I had really liked Calorie King, when they started charging $ I dropped out. Is there anything like that here or do I need to sign-up with them again. I liked them because I could set-up my own plan based on my favorite foods, etc. I sure would appreciate any suggestions regarding the whole planning, tracking thing.
I am fighting a current state (hopefully temporary) of being lazy, unmotivated, and out of breath . . . but hopeful!
Thanks!

Calorie King costs money? I use it everyday to figure out the values in what I eat. Now, I don't use calorie king to plan my meals etc..., I have a diet journal, and that works great ---- and its only $12.

Good Luck!

fitday has a free version, which I use with no problem. some people don't like the way you have to add in new foods and others think the activity and calories burned calcs are a little off. There's also thedailyplate, but I don't know if they charge.

spark people is an amazing website. You track your water, calories, exercise, and there are message boards and thousands of articles for you to read. It is so easy to use and its free! I feel like and ad for the site but really it works and its so easy to use!

Fitday is great and it's free - however, the PC version that you can purchase for $20.00 is easier to use and provides great reports to help you track your progress and goals.

=)

I use fitday, but mostly i just write in a normal journal and google the calories etc, this wont be as spot on as fitday or whatever, but it works for me!!

I used calorieking.com. The food database is free. You have to pay for the online tracking or buy the software.

It isn't too expensive for the web version but the technical support wasn't very good.

I recently bought the fitday.com software.. It has more reporting features, which I wanted but the calorieking.com food database is more complete.

I believe I paid 29.99 for the fitday software. Calorieking's was 45 last time I checked

I use the free Nutridiary and quite like it. It's a little bit clunky but it does very nice reports and you can store entire meals (recipes) as one item.

*********** would be good for what you want since it's free and you can do meal planning.

Wow, thanks I'll go check those out.
Yeah, calorie king charges for the sections that I want, meal planning, tracking, etc. Just looking up calories is pretty easy almost everywhere.

FYI - I tried Nutradiary and really liked it. When I went into the forums I discovered that one is minding the store anymore. So who knows how long it will stay up.
So now I am trying ***********, it seems cool, a little overwhelming. But they seem to have the stuff I was hoping for and free.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

hoji -
I think the site you are referring to is a competitor of 3FC....that's why you get the ***'s. IMHO - that site is ok for stuff like recipes - but their forum is nowhere near as good as this one.

I am liking the daily plate lately tho! I'm thinking i might switch over from fitday for a awile and see how it goes. But I like how Fitday links work so well here. Decisions decisions..

The real issue with the site you're discussing is their SPAM! About a year ago, 3FC was deluged with "newbies" signing up just to promote the site. It was ridiculous -- we were deleting multiple posts a day since it's against forum rules to join in order to self-promote or sell something. Suzanne finally had to add the site name to the censor just to control the flow of spam.

And that's the story behind the *****!
