Default anyone also suffering from saggy arms?

now i know i still have along way to go for my goal weight of 130 lbs but so far with all the weight i have already lost, my arms look a mess. i cant believe my arms were that huge to begin with but now that half.. yes half of my arms width is just sagging skin i dont know what to do. it looks horrible, at least when i was bigger my arms were "filled" and now it just looks like old "wrinkled stretch mark all over the place" skin, i just turned 22 for crying out loud. i know some people have told me that there is a possibility of them shrinking back to place but the way i see it, i was so big for so long that i doubt that and since my weightloss has been coming along pretty good and quick, i bet that has alot to do with it. iam here to ask if anyone else is considering having an arm lift or if anyone has had one because i can only imagine my arms at my goal weight.. it is going to get worst and i rather have a lined scar running down my arm then have "wings"

I too suffer from saggy arms. I feel like I've had them all my life. I'm 31 now. I never developed huge rolls I just have a big flap of skin that hangs on the underside of my arms. Unfortunatly for me it seems I could exercise my arms non-stop and they are still going to be flabby. "Sigh" I've just kind of accepted the fact that I'll never comfortably wear tank tops or real short sleeves. I've thought of surgery on my arms but the price is a real factor for me. Oh well, I figure I'll keep working on them and try to make them look the best that I can.

I'm all too familiar with the batwings. One of my arms is more flabby than the other. I've been working on weight machines and exercising them, but I am only 1/2 way to goal. We will see what happens with them.

Oh, I so understand.

I just turned 23 and had an armlift 6mos ago because after the weight loss my arms were HORRIBLE. Uck. The scar is much preferable. It is thin-- less than half a pinky finger width, but it is red/pink. That will go away, I'm told within another year or so.

I ALWAYS had big arms--- and HATED them. They would jiggle and wiggle even when just typing on the keyboard. So embarrasing at school!

But--- it can be taken care of with an armlift. Maybe your skin will shrink up on its own, but to be honest, I would doubt it. For just the reasons you listed. Being so heavy for so long takes an irreperable toll on your skin.

But, chin up! You have done SO well, you will continue to do well! It is NOT your fault that your arms aren't shrinking up. You can't change the past, only the future and you are doing what you can to take the weight off.

I definitely have saggy skin on my upper arms. It is actually the area of my body that I think looks the worst since I lost weight. I've been at goal now for a yr. and it still sags. I do think that all my gardening and swimming is helping a little tiny bit. I was obese for many yrs. so I pretty much expected that everything would look saggy, but I'm pretty much OK with the rest of my body. I don't wear shirts that are sleeveless. The thing I hate the most is how mine looks in my swimsuit. UUggh . I don't plan to have the surgery because of the cost and the fact that I've had tons of surgeries and have more to dread in the future already.

I totally identify with your concerns, although I'm just starting my weight loss, I know my #1 problem will be my arms. Unlike most people, my middle was the last place I gained weight, instead most of it seemed to go to my limbs and hips. I know that toning doesn't always get rid of the problem completely, but it does help, especially biceps/triceps exercises. I know of a couple people who lost significant amounts of weight and decided to fill out their shells by bodybuilding, and by bodybuilding I don't mean steroid induced super bulk I just mean putting on some muscle mass to fill in the extra skin it's something to consider if surgery isn't an option right now.

My sister lost a significant amount of weight about a year ago. Her "wings" caught up pretty nicely. No flab there, or no jelly rolls. Hopefully it's genetics and they'll help me out when I rich my goal weight.

Well, I always thought, even at over 300 pounds, I had abnormally fat upper arms. I was right. I now have about 5 inches of saggy arm skin. On the other hand, my older sister, who is even bigger than I was, carries a significantly smaller amount of fat in her upper arms. If she ever loses the weight, I can almost positively say that her arms will not be nearly as saggy as mine are. I bet my arm circumference is bigger than hers right now even though she weighs almost double than I do. So it really just depends on the paticular person.

Sorry, not answering the question (been drinking). But when I finally meet the my very wealthy gorgeous soul-mate, I fully intend on getting ALL excess skin removed, so I finally can be comfortable enough to wear a sleeveless shirt in public
