Default BFL Coach

I did try to search for this topic on the 3FC site, but came up empty. I'm contemplating signing up online for the BFL Coach...mostly to get a quick print out and track of the weights and exercises I'm using (vs food diary). Has anyone used this? It's not a bad price ($47 for a full year) and if I'm not happy they will give me a full refund after 2 weeks. Just curious if anyone has tried it.

I'm just learning about BFL, I'm starting in earnest tomorrow...
Do you get feedback from the BFL coach in how you're doing?
I am using the bowflex, so I made 'forms' on the computer as to what exersize I'm doing, ect. I wasn't going to log my food, but I think I will at first, until I know what works and what doesn't....

I'm sorry that I'm not able to answer your question, but I'm curious as to what others will say.

This is something pretty new I think - I haven't heard of it either, from when I was researching the program. Just didn't want your question to go unanswered - there are alot of us following BFL principals, but I think we all probably started before the Coach was available. Hopefully someone will chime in with an opinion. Good Luck with it!!

Well, I'll be the guinea pig here and let everyone know how it goes. I signed up today since I have some time to go through everything and set it up. If not before, I'll come back next weekend and let folks know how it's working out for me.

So far I'm not too impressed:

- I was hoping the site would store my workouts each time and do some sort of analysis when I posted my actual weights used and level of exertion. But it doesn't store anything. If you want to keep track of your workout, it says to print it out and put it in a binder. That's high tech, isn't it!

- the blog/posts are minimal at best. The program is over 2 years old and folks really don't have much to say.

- the only part I like so far is the pretty print out I bring to the gym in the morning, but that's not really worth paying $47.

argh! Live and learn... Thanks for being the guinea pig tho. I used to just make a blank spreadsheet to take to the gym and fill it in as I did a workout. I have several years of binders full, somewhere!

Sorry to hear that Joni. At least you've got specific reasons you don't like it (esp the lack of technology!) and should be able to get your money back if you decide to.

I wound up cancelling and promptly received an email saying they credited my account. I created my own excel worksheet that I'll use at the gym, since I really do believe that you should track this stuff....at least for a while.

Mel - I laughed about your having several binders full of workouts...."somewhere." Why do we save this kind of information?

I have the BFL success journal from my first attempt. I made it around day 18 till i started falling of track. I just picked it up where I left off before, and changed the number on the page. I get tired of tracking my food though and use it mostly for the work out page.

I too bought the success journal (plus the book, I just love giving BP my money ), but don't really use it. I have a blog now and tend to put my thoughts down on it. I've also made a spreadsheet on excel for my Upper and Lower body work outs which I modify weekly and print off to take to the gym.
