Default Newbie who needs motivation in Cali

Hello all,
Well I guess i'll start by saying i've been overweight all my life.(Im only 22) I am the least motivated person I know and im a guilty overeater. My weight has really gotten out of controll since ive had my daughter. A few months ago I found out that I have a thyroid problem and have been put on medication for it. I was hopeing that would be my excuss for all the weight I have gained but I know more that anyone that all thought that may be a contributing factor, the abuse I have been putting my body threw(not eating healthy, not exercising) was the main cause of my problem. Well I guess that is it from me for now. I am really looking forward to starting my journey and getting my health back. Thanks for listening!!!

Hi and Glad you are here!

Don't worry about the lack of motivation... I think MOST or all of us lack motivation at least some of the time. What it takes is a DECISION to get in shape, develop a plan and stick with it!

I know what you mean about the thyroid as I have that also and in fact had half of mine removed a couple years back because of a tumor. It DOES affect us and makes it harder to get the weight off I think... but it CAN be done if we keep our meds regulated right AND just plain ole stick with our plans... the plan doesn't even have to be complicated or a "diet" but whatever works for us. For me it is just eat healthfully and move my butt a lot more. Since I have cut out most processed foods and greatly lowered my salt intake, my blood pressure has dropped from high (and my doctor seriously considering putting me on meds) to a normal range... and all my working out makes me feel so much better!

Good for you for admitting that you are the main cause of most of your weight problem. You are off to a great start by doing so. What type of exercise and eating plan are you doing?

Default Re. Response to my post

So far I have not come up with a plan but I went to one website that said right now my calorie intake should be 1600cal So I have been adding up all of my intake today on Fitday.com and tommorrow I hope since I have the mind set now that I will do better. I just want to than you for the support and its nice to have someone already to relate too. Maybe we can keep in touch.
