Default what's the best FF mayo???

I am a mayo and butter freak....I finally started using hellmans/bestfoods light mayo...but I really don't like it THAT much....it's just ok...but tuna salad just doesn't taste as good as it used to....

I wanted a fat free mayo for a base to make salad dressings etc...

what is the best FAT FREE mayo that you have tried...and what makes it so good?

Like you, i am a butter and mayo freak. I too use the hellmans light. I just cant do ff. I want to. But like you said, even with the light, i just cant do chicken salad or tuna salad anymore. I had to give those up, if i cant have full fat. I am the same way with ranch dressing. I cant do the light, so i had to switch to a different dressing. Bummer. I did try using the light mayo mixed with some horseradish spread and it was pretty good on a sandwich. gave the sandwich a kick and i couldnt taste that it was light. But no luck with ff.

For your Salad Dressing, have you tried the "Light done Right" by kraft? They have a 3 cheese ranch and and I am a serious Ranch dressing eater. I LOVE it, infact I almost prefer it to regular ranch dressing now. Just a thought. If you get a good FF or LF Mayo I will be up for trying it, I am a butter/mayo/cream lover!!! My HIPS dont lie!

FF mayo.. how can anyone do it? I think light is bad enough. While saying that, I do like French's "gourmayo" with wasabi and horseradish. It's not FF; it's light, but it's delicious.

*Goes to Google search how FF mayo is even possible, considering regular mayo is ALL fat*

I'll use ff mayo in dishes where it is an ingredient, rather than like on a sandwich or something. That way I can doctor it up with lots of other spices and things. I use Smart beat 10 cals a Tablespoon. I think it works fine as part of a recipe.

I've not found one that I can eat. I've pretty much given up eating mayo on a regular basis - and when I do, I use the real thing sparingly. My DH won't eat LF or FF, so we have regular in the house all the time.

I can't.

I like the Hellman's Light and that's as "light" as I'll go.

I use Kraft fat free. I've gotten so used to it that the real thing makes me gag. Kind of makes it hard to eat a sandwich prepared at a deli! LOL I actually have to order it without mayo when I go out (unless they offer lf or ff which is rare).

I was hoping that maybe there was one that doesn't have that funny "sweet taste" ....I tried smart beat and it tasted sweet to me...

mostly I wanted the right consistancy and creaminess without the sweet for bleu cheese dressing....

I don't think I could ever use it for sandwiches or tuna salad....

Uncle Dans makes a bleu cheese mix with only 5 calories....

has anyone tried Kraft Free?

I am not a mayonaise lover, never was. But when on occasion I do eat it, I prefer the full FAT one. I'd rather have a little smidgen of the full fat one, then more of the what is to me - odd tasting light and fat free varieties. They take out the fat and I don't know what it is they put in there, but it just tastes - off - to me.

I always and only use Hellmans.

I use the Hellman's/Best Foods light mayo and I find it ok. I've never been a great lover of mayonnaise and I tend to feel that if you're not going to make it yourself, from scratch, you might as well eat the light stuff. If I'm going to have any significant quantity of it, I'll usually have added something to it though--chipotles in adobo, or red onions and capers, or garlic and basil.

If you want to make a blue cheese dressing, could you use ff sour cream instead? Or the light mayo with an extra squirt of lemon juice to cut down on the sweetness?

I just was looking through my saved favorites and ran across this page with a recipe for ff mayo. No idea how good it is, but here it is anyway

HFCS, corn starch, and some other unpronounceable thickeners. Lots of reduced-fat foods are full of HFCS.

I'm not a big mayo eater (much prefer mustards or Dijonnaise, which has hardly any calories and is pretty creamy), but I enjoy the real Best Foods. 1/2 tsp. of that is plenty for me on a sandwich.

Default LOVE Kraft Light Done Right!

I am with you, I love the Kraft "Light Done Right" salad dressing! Almost all of the other light salad dressings that I have tried contain way too much sweetener and they are just too sweet. I can't stand them. However, the Kraft one is very good. It has been very difficult to find lately and I hope they are not doing away with it. As far as the light mayo's go, the Hellmann's is pretty good and I use it. Down here in the south we also have a mayonnaise called Dukes, and they have a light version that is also very good. No way on the fat free versions, they are disgusting.
