Hey, can anyone suggest a good multi vitamin. I want one that gets fully absorbed. Cause my problem is that i tend to burp after taking them. I just want to know if i should spend the money at like GNC or if i can buy one at walmart???? Thanx
If you don't mind the taste, a chewable vitamin should take care of that problem. Otherwise, my recommendation would be to take your multi- with a meal.
Personally, I don't think any of the major brands are particularly better than others, so just pick one that's nutritionally sound (i.e. not megadoses of any nutrient) and a good value. You can also check out some well-reputed reviews like Consumer Reports or ConsumerLab.
Liquid vitamins are supposed to absorb better. I'm in the market for a good one myself (I can't keep down the pill kind.) I currently take a chewable, but it doesn't contain all of the nutrition I'm looking for. Personally I think health food stores have the best selection. I don't like how they "push" stuff at GNC and I don't trust the usual brands that you find at store like Walmart. This is just my opinion though, I'm not an expert.
I do know that you should always take vitamins with food that has a little fat in it, otherwise it's a partial waste of money (you won't get the benefit of the fat soluble vitamins.)
I'm on a hunt for one myself. My problem is, I've tried several brades/types, and it never fails, they always make me sick to my stomach. So I'm trying to find one thats easy on the tummy.
I've been taking "Cinch" vitamins for about a month now and they work pretty good for me. They're made by shaklee and they also have some other weight loss stuff you might want to look at to.
I take One a Day Weight Smart but I don't reccomend that one. It hadn't occured to me until I read the other posts that the stomachaches I've been getting could be from my vitamin. I guess I'm on th market for a new one as well.

Them are the ones I am currently taking, well the generic to it anyways. I have not noticed any stomach aches or anything else. I take mine right after breakfast.
Yeah, One a Day tends to really good, and they don't go too too far away from the daily rec. value, which a lot of vitamins tend to do and a lot of the time you don't need so much supplemental vitamin, what is reccommended is all you need
I use viactiv. I don't have a problem with the taste, but my sister said it tastes a little chalky. All other vitamins I've tried make me sick too, so bad at times I've thrown up. The viactiv doesn't bother me at all and I can kinda tell a difference when I miss a couple...it's hard to explain but I feel tired and not as up beat. If I miss then for a week or so (I'm bad with remembering things sometimes) then I notice a difference in my fingernails as they grow, they get thinner and end up breaking once that part is off the flesh.
I thought Vitamin Waters might be a good option, only to realize I was drinking a whole lot of sugar with my vitamins and upping my daily calories So I need to find a good one myself- are the chewables and liquids easier on the stomach?
I use Centrum Complete...it's an orange flavored chewable...and while I don't really care for the orange flavor, it doesn't make me sick like pills. I usually throw up my vitamins, but don't have a problem with Centrum. This one was reccommended by my DOC
Vitamins make me throw up as well, I never realized how common that was! I started taking a double dose of children's gummy vitamins. While not quite the best, it is better than nothing. One kind I did take that didn't bother my stomach (but was out of my price range) was the Lindberg Pink Pack. It's a packet of pills a day instead of one so I would divide them up with each meal and skip the iron pill. If you are really looking for a high quality one, you might give those a try.
