Do You Think We Should Switch to a Daily Losers & Friends Thread?
We are a chatty bunch! Many times we get to seven or more pages a day. I'm wondering if some of you think a daily chat thread might be easier to navigate. I'm thinking that some people (me included) won't feel so overwhelmed at what you missed if you're gone for a day or so.
So what do you guys think? I'm going to keep this up until Monday and we'll go from there.
I have to admit, I've always found the Losers & Friends threads a little intimidating. I can never seem to keep up, and then I feel bad for just rambling on about my successes and/or failures, while failing to give personal shout outs to everybody else! So as a result I've kind of steered clear of it all together. I think a daily one would be easier to wrap my head around, for sure!
I totally agree with momerath. I work all day so by the time I get home from work, there are so many pages to sift through, I miss out on encouraging others etc.
maybe a daily weekday version. but on the weekends maybe a weekend version that includes both Saturday and Sunday...... or would that be too confusing? seems like it always slows on the weekend.
I agree on the daily thread and sat and sunday thread posted that way...hopfully nobody will be shy to start the new threads I am finding myself getting lost with all the posts we are growing bigger as a group but getting smaller in our own sizes lol........also if we could post the hot lemon water and sub bars and sub drinks in thier own section they seem to be the most popular questions
Well, at the risk of clogging the forum page with so many threads, I guess I can go along with the group and support the idea.. At first I voted "no"...
I agree that the weekend thread should be consolodated, as those days are usually pretty slow.
Also, Cassi, can the threads be removed the following day? I know that means more work for you, but it would clean up the clutter... Then again, some posters who were gone on a particular day might want to look back and see what they missed..
I don't think we should remove them because someone may want to refer to something, but we can lock them the following day (although I won't get on until after noon when school is back in session) and then they will eventually drop to the second page.
This forum has grown so much I can't believe it. Hasn't it just been a month or so since we started the weekly post, now were talking daily.
If I am away for a couple of days, I am probably going to go back and read it all anyway - and you know - if you don't want to read it all - you certainly don't have to.
I don't think changing it to daily is going to make it any easier for us to catch up on what we missed after being away. The posts are still there. Its just whether you choose to read them or not.
I have to agree with Karen - a daily thread or a weekly thread is not going to make any difference in how long it takes to catch up after you've been away a day or two. Personally, I find I have time to post infrequently, but I always go back to read what has happened while I've been gone - having a daily thread is not going to make that any easier.
it will actually be more troublesome for me because like Karen and Val I will go back to read what I missed so then I would be switching threads instead of just scrolling through....
everyone is different and should just start where they want. Yes, the site has grown but it's not like we are going to cut people out--this is for everyone--so read when you can. post when you want--
Good point, you guys. I think what I meant by "easier" was that sometimes I just want to catch up on the day's events when I can't do the whole thing and scrolling through to find where it starts for that day, or back to what day I started to miss gets a little trying.
Keep the opinions coming. If the poll says "daily" then we can try it for a week and then get opinions again on how it's working.
