Default Tuesday Twittering - June 19

Lots of twittering outside this morning. The baby robins are having another flying lesson and the parents are in a panic. It's nice to start the day with a smile.

It's going to be a stinking hot day today with 32ºC/90ºF and high humidity predicted. I sure hope we get rain tonight as my garden is actually dusty when I hoe out weeds.

This morning I have a flat of strawberries to prep for the freezer. They are the first of the local ones and pretty darn good. My own small berry patch is not producing yet but never gives me enough to freeze. This year I am freezing berries in 1 cup packages for winter smoothies.

Yesterday I cleaned up and put out the wading pool for the Girls. Hershey immediately got into it and sat there waiting for me to add the water. I got the hint! My sister is coming for a visit this morning with her precious grand daughter. I don't know if she'll let Georgia into a pool with a dog but I bet Georgia will have no compunctions! My sis is deathly afraid of dogs but hides it so her G.D. won't have the same problem.

Hmmm - they may be here for lunch so I'd better be ready!

How is your Tuesday schedule? I hope it involves some relaxation.

Morning all,

We're sharing the same weather pattern, Ruth! Hot, hazy and humid here, too.

I'm off to Curves, then off to spend the day with my girlies. We have a playdate after lunch, the wading pool will be in full use! I have to keep it in the fenced-in play yard, or the dogs would take it over! Three big dogs in the pool wouldn't leave much room for kids. Maybe I'll be extra nice and fill up the plastic pool for the doggies.

I'm off and running!

Mornin' Ruth!

Not much time to post as the kids need to get their teeth brushed and I need to wash off the 90+ degree sweat that's accumulated all day (phew!) but I wanted to say hi.

Have a lovely day!

It's warmish (for England) over here right now, could rain. I'm uploading stuff onto Ebay preparing for the closure of my yarn shop. Got to get the home office sorted, as we're going online only - they're knocking down the market building my shop is attached too, plus the town isn't the right sort of place for the posher designer yarns that I love to sell. I can fit an online business round my family better too. No-one ever said on their deathbed 'I wish I spent more time with my boss'!!

So busy busy here, good thing, as it stops my wandering around picking at nibbly bits. Only problem is that I also run a British foods export business, so spend a lot of time surrounded by chocolate!!

Hope everyone has a great day, sounds lovely where you are Ruth!

Unreal heat and humidity here too...yesterday heat index was 110 and humidity 92%. It was almost impossible to breath when I stepped outside..like a brick wall hitting.

I want to try to get outside and cut the grass in the back yard before it starts raining again...and gets too miserable.

I was so exhausted from working yesterday that I laid down for "just a few minutes" after putting in 12 hours in front of the computer and fell sound asleep for 2 hours...then could not go to sleep when it was time to...then up again at 4 this morning to start again. I feel like my butt and this computer chair are married. At least now my butt is smaller than the chair. Had a lot of graphics to make yesterday and tons of coding to do, but got it all done and woke up this morning to a new list of emails with "emergencies" of corrections (not on my end, but from clients end) Don't know why this one client does not "edit" before text goes live...ah well, more money for me if I have to do it twice!

Have a great day and stay cool!!

Great attitude, Femme! Hope the work goes quickly for you!

Oberon, I hope your yarn gets sold quickly. What a fun hobby and business!

You'd think it was fun, but you know how your Gran gets at Christmas, after a few sherries? A bit lairy, bit loud and obnoxious? That's my clientele!! You get it 1 day a year, I get it 365! I seem to attract old ladies that smell like cough sweets and cats. They're rude, and nasty and make comments about the shop and me very loudly, and get funny when asked to leave. They also have a habit of telling me where exactly nearby sells yarn half the price of mine (not that you'd want to do anything other than tie plants with it)

I'm looking forward to going online-only, and not getting the same sort of hassles......

I am wishing for warm weather over here on the East coast! The sun is making an appearance and I really want it to get warm!!!!

Busy day today at the office and I am going out to lunch with the girls today so we shall see how that goes. DH is cooking supper tonight so I need to make sure I stick to the diet really well all day as I'm not too sure what is on the menu tonight!

OberonSH- I understand your frustration! I am a cake decorator on the side and I always hear about where they could get something similar for less. I get a few funny stories out of it though so it can be entertaining.

Cheers!

Oh, you'll get hassles (my clients tell me all time about the loony tune online shoppers they get..especially one who gets tons of requests every day for "free samples", ie:"I've heard great things about your products, but want to try them first" We laugh and say wouldn't it be fun to write back and ask them if they lick the food in the grocery store before they buy?)

The difference is you'll get hassles from them in the form of emails instead of in person...and it's so much easier to ignore emails till you can compose yourself, cool off and then write them back without having them stare at you!

Rain off and on yesterday, and again this morning (boy is my garden happy!). Supposed to clear off this afternoon and be less humid.

Work is already starting out with a bang and I have barely taken that first sip of coffee. Good thing there are no illegal foods in the office as I feel it is going to be a rough day! Leftover Turkey/black bean burger from dinner lastnight and 3 bean salad for lunch.

It is amazing how creative I have gotten, and the new foods I have tried and found I love!

Lisa I too do cakes on the side but have backed off alot recently as my work schedule just doesn't allow it like it used to.

We are looking at getting a new furkid, we lost our husky back in april to a mystery illness, and think the time is now right to get a new friend for our puggle and give the poor cat a break!

Have a wonderful day all!

Good morning!

Ruth Enjoy your visit with your sister- does she live fairly close or is this a rare visit?

Cottage Sounds like another busy day for you! I thought of you yesterday when I had a crew of kids around my kitchen table doing an art project. The neighborhood kids seem to love our house.

Kara What is the time difference between were you are and the states? I know you have mentioned it before, but I can't seem to remember.

Oberon I bet it would be nice to own an online business to eliminate the face to face stuff. Be sure to post the link when you get it all up and running.

Femme I had an hard time falling asleep last night as well- that is very rare for me! Your body must have needed that nap though!

Lisa Does your DH know the SB way of cooking? Mine certainly does not! He and DD made homemade pizza on Saturday night. Hmmm.... no whole wheat crust, that is for sure!

Lady Bug Have a great day!

Me- Had a wonderfully OP day yesterday- managed to exercise as well- it felt great! I also had a great day with my kids, which was lovely! We are watching a neighbor kid periodically this summer, so yesterday was the first day. He is a year older than my oldest DD, so they played all day. It will make a bit of extra money, so that is nice.

This morning is Bible study, then home for lunch and tidying. Not too much on the plan for today. I am going to do another exercise video- that just felt too stinking good!! My focus this week is on exercise and taking my vitamins. My mood and general disposition was just crappy, so I have got to take some strides to change that!! A good dose of the Lord and some exercise should help that!!

all around- have a great day!

Sounds like you have a good plan, Kiko. Keep up the good work! We are thirteen hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time. Until Daylight Savings hits, which does not affect us here, so then we will be twelve hours ahead. The first time Tom was here and I stayed back in the States, ten years ago, he was famous for calling at all hours of the night. He could NOT get the time difference through his head!

Pacer, I think the new recipes are my favorite part of this eating plan. I've found some real gems!

Oberon, I do hope you'll share your wacky old lady stories with us! I would love to hear some.

Off to bed with me, after I hang the laundry to dry. See you all in the morning!

Sounds like hot, humid and busy are today's themes. We'll have a lot of humidity today but it will be about 10 degrees cooler, which will be nice.

After breakfast, I'll do a little cleaning this morning and then me and the kids are off to visit my grandma (their great-grandma). We're taking her out for lunch and maybe we'll head to the park if she's up for it. She's 87 and self-sufficient but she gets tired easier these days. Tonight I'm meeting with a Tastefully Simple consultant to get info about becoming a consultant myself.

Ruth, have a great visit with your sister! OberonSH and Femme, thanks for the laughs!!

Well, I'm off for now. The coffee's calling me! Have a great day, everyone!

Morning all! All this talk about humidity actually has me thankful for our nice, dry heat - all 110+/- degrees of it! (Once it gets to around 110, I stop paying attention to the actual high - 108, 113, whatever. Its all hot!) I'll start paying attention when it start approaching 120...but we probably have a few weeks until then.

Got an extra hour of sleep last night but it was still hard getting up. I usually don't start feeling like this until Thurs/Fri. The extra weight from my Sat. binge is starting to drop off. Hopefully, I'll be back down to my ticker weight by the end of the week. I'm a poster child for water weight gain.

Nessa - I loved your walking desk. I might have to forward that to my boss!

Have a great day all!
