Default Starting a healthy life

Hello all, just found this board while doing some searching around. I am trying to change my life style. I am pretty buisy all the time which has led me to eat mostly junk and become very physically inactive. I have a bad habbit of eating when stressed out or under the gun getting work done.

I have tried a few diets before and just don't seem to be able to find one I can stick with. That is why I am talking more about a life style change. I have cut out the junk food and am eating alot more fruit and veggies along with drinking water like crazy. The water I think helps releave my oral fixation of always needing to be eating something, even when I am not hungry. I have been walking for about 45mins a day for the last few days and eventualy would like to get back into running. The funny thing is that I was once an avid runner, running for 45mins-1 hour a day. At some point I lost all that and ended up gaining 100 LBS in a little over 10 years.

Anyway, this seems like a great place to talk with people trying to get healthy. Thanks.

Welcome!!

You seem to be on the right track (pun intended!) I think half the battle is finding something you can live with, adapt to and make part of your new normal. I feel like I'm getting the best of both worlds--finding things that work for me and my preferences while at the same time, learning and incorporating new things that I hadn't done before. I'm not just looking at an ultimate goal, I'm actually enjoying the process of getting there.

You can do it. All the "little changes" add up!
