I was amazed, but the more water you drink, the more weight you loose. I guess that's why the experts keep telling us to drink water. I discovered this (luckily) early on, when I had one week of low water consumption and then the following week of enormous water consumption. The 1st week 1 1/2 lbs lost; the 2nd week 7 lbs lost. I find that I always do much better, though 7 lbs is extreme, in the high water consumption weeks. Drink as much as you can ~ (some days you'll feel as though your kidneys are floating, but its soooo worth it).
I typically drink about 2-3 liters of water a day when I'm doing well. That's not including anything else I drink, as I usually have 1-2 cans diet soda and occasionally some sugar-free Kool Aid, but I don't include those in my water count. When I'm in a nutritional rut (like right now), I drink much less, and I sure feel crappier for it!
The line between hydrated and dehydrated for me is a fine one. When I'm dehydrated, I get dizzy. When I'm really dehydrated, I have a pulsing sound in my inner ear when I turn my head plus being dizzy.
Minimal intake is 60 oz, not including my morning tea or 1-2 caffeine-free sodas in the evening.
I like to hit 80oz during the day. Makes me wear a path to the little girls' room, but I feel better.
When I exercise, I drink about 16oz average additional water for every 30minutes (especially if it's outside summer bicycle riding). I've been known to consume over 72oz on a 25mile ride (a little over 2 hour ride), and then drink another 72oz after the ride. I didn't mention that I sweat like a piggie (as the saying goes).
BTW, I have to make a conscious effort to drink water! If I were only that way with food...... *sigh*
I'm the rare case of drinking relatively no water -- at the beginning of my change, I drank the default 64 oz, but that only lasted 2 weeks. I'm just not a big water fan. I do drink alot of diet pop though -- and crystal light. Water consumption never seemed to have any effect on my weight loss. I can't imagine myself forcing down X oz of water every day for the rest of my life. I'm not undermining its importance, but everyone has to find what works for them and what they can live with.
Hmmmmm. I'm not sure about the liters and pints conversions. I drink 80 - 100 ounces. I guess I could drink more but if I eventually do, it will be a gradual increase.
I am horrible about water... we have well water and I think it tastes nasty. Can't afford bottled water. But have had more than one Doc in the past tell me , I can do crystal light as a replacement, not as good for me but if that is all I will drink then do it. SOOOO Since I seen this post , I been reminded I have not been drinking it as much as I should so this morning I left the soda in the box ( I hate warm soda) and fillled my sports drink bottle with CL. And made a new container of it as well... I've drank about 20 ozs so far this morning and even had breakfast... I plan on drinking at least 2 more of my sports bottles of CL today if not more. I am not a big drinker of anything n general.
