Hi Allthatshimmers, welcome to 3FC!

Sounds like you're on the right track but here are a couple of things to consider.
1. Avocados are very high in fat so you may want to cut the amount you're eating down. One single avocado is 34% of your RDI of fat...that's alot for a single food!
2. It's also a good idea to watch bread as there can be hidden fats, etc in them. I never eat more than one slice of bread per day...usually I eat open faced sandwiches on one slice of ww bread and LOTS of veggies and about 2-3 oz of protein.

Have you opened an account with fitday.com? That's a terrific resource for tracking your daily eating (you have to enter everything that passes your lips to get an accurate accouting) as well knowing what things you may be eating too much or not enough of. I found that even though I was eating really well and losing weight I was taking in too much sodium and that's not good for my overall health so now I'm a little more careful in that area. I'd encourage you to set up a fitday journal and use it (even if just for a week) to see how you're meals are stacking up nutritionally. It's not about deprivation, it's about eating better for a long healthy life.

I hope that helps,
Tamara

Hi Lauren - welcome!

I don't know how tall you are, or how much you weigh, or how much weight you want to lose - so it's hard to say (and I am CERTAINLY no expert! ), but I'd be pretty hungry on that. It sounds healthy enough I personally would have more veggies and less avocado, but that's because avocado goes straight to my hips! It has lots of healthy fats and vitamins, though!

How long do you want to stay on this 'diet'? Because I don't know how long you'll be able to stick with just those foods You must have more will power than me!

Watch the sugar in the cereal, too - though high fiber is good!

Give us a bit more more info, and I'm sure you'll have lots of replies!

Good luck!
Heather

you should be eating protein with every meal, also you could have snacks during the day (2-3). You should try fitday to see how many cals (approx.) you are eating. Your best bet s to go by the food guide to amke sure you get all the nutrients you need. Also how many cals r u cosuming? Most experts will agree to not go below 1200 i rarely go under 1400.

Hi there and

Protein, protein, protein! Your body needs it especially if your exercising. Try adding some chicken or turkey to your salads or sandwiches. If you're not into meat or poultry you could add things like milk, yogurt, and more cheese. Peanut or almond butter is also great as long as you watch the amount (much like the avacado).

As canadian_mom said it is possible to eat too little so make sure you are getting enough. Just remember that the more you weigh the more calories you can eat and still lose weight. Play around with fitday and in there it will give an estimation of your daily calorie expenditure.

Good luck and enjoy 3FC!

Very lopsided with starches and fat and veggies and almost no dairy or protein. Protein is essential and are you exercising? Just walking is enough.
