Brrrrrr! It's a tad chilly out there today! I'll take it, though.
Yesterday was one of those days where I was so busy that the day just flew! We had a few schedule changes and spent most of the day on the run, and I didn't get a chance to eat the tuna salad I had planned for my lunch. Instead, I had a PB on WW bread with the girls, and had a SB Snack Bar later at rehearsal. So I really had to load up on veggies at suppertime! Today will be back to a more healthy diet, I hope.
After Curves, I have grocery shopping to do, and I want to shop for a new cellphone. I'm eligible for my update, so I want to get a "hands-free" phone that I can use while driving. I'm waiting to hear word on whether polo is on for this evening, I think the ground is too wet to play, so I may have yet another short day.
This week has been a whirlwind for me too Cottage
I was in Boston on Tuesday and due to bad weather my flight home was delayed -I didnt get home til after 1am... My butt was draggin! Today is up in the air,
Schatzi, hope you get back into the swing of things quickly. Travelling always takes a lot out of me, too.
Sue, sounds like you made good food choices even if it wasn't what you had planned, given the circumstances. Good thing there's always a "tomorrow" to get back to a more normal schedule!
Today was my last day on Phase 1 so tomorrow I'm planning a mango smoothie for breakfast! YUM! I'm going to try to go slow reintroducing things.
Tom and I have a date planned for tomorrow night, which should be a blast! The kids were punks today, just little stuff all day long that kept getting under my skin, so it will be nice to have some adult time for a couple hours tomorrow evening. Does that sound awful? Sometimes I feel like a bad mother when I need time away from them. I just get burned out.
I'm off to sweep the floor and then get my shower. I'll probably check in later again.
I have to get to the grocery store today too..desperately! I got in my car yesterday to go and my husband had been driving my car the day before and pulled it up a little too far in a new section of gravel driveway we put in for extra parking. I got stuck...tried to go back, forward, turned wheel in every direction etc and finally was able to pull into grass. But, with all the storms we have been having, it was goosh and I was really stuck. My son was able to come over later in the day after my husband got home and they used his truck to get it out..it is a muddy mess and I never did get to the store. My husband picked up some po-boys for he and the boys on the way home and brought me home the salad I requested...BUT he brought me home a chef salad that was just loaded with tons of cheese and roast and ham and I wasn't sure on how those meats were prepared and by the time I picked all of it off, not much was left..just a little turkey, a hard boiled egg and a ton of lettuce. boring! I had had something grilled in mind and should have said so.
Looks like another hot day here with afternoon storms. typical summer day. Lots of work to do and the puppy thinks my bare feet are great toys. She is really good though and is so good about "going" outside...only a couple of tiny puddles inside in the last 3 days and she sleeps through the night with no problems (ok, she sleeps with us!) She is really funny...she is so chunky and she runs and then stretches out like Superman and slides across the floor on her tummy and just falls asleep.
Tom and I have a date planned for tomorrow night, ... to have some adult time for a couple hours tomorrow evening. Does that sound awful?
Not awful at all and it is something you really need to do on a REGULAR BASIS...sometimes we can forget who we are and just become "Mommy" and lose ourselves in it..
I have 3 also..now 26,23 and 19, so I know how tiring it can be. But honestly, you will blink your eyes and they will be grown and gone. Sometimes I wish I could have a day of spilled juice on the floor again. I miss my babies, but love they way they "turned out".
Good Morning everyone! It is overcast and rainy again here today. I'm still trying to catch up on laundry, but it doesn't look like I'll be hanging any outside today. We got some major storms last night, so I didn't get my walk in again.
Last night I tried the taco bake and it definitely lived up to its reputation. Another bonus - DH wasn't crazy about it, so I've got some leftovers for lunch today. Everytime I try to cook enough for leftovers, he polishes it off. He's not on SBD with me, doesn't have any weight to lose, but he's loving the diet anyway, because I cook every night, and he's a big veggie eater. Yesterday, he showed me how loose his pants were getting. Made me want to smack him, I'll bet he's lost more than me. Another bonus, he's a diabetic, and his blood sugar has been right on target!
Hello cottage and femme!
Schatzi - do you travel a lot? I've got a business trip next week for 4 days, and I'm worried how I'll cope. Got any good tips?
Kara - don't you dare feel guilty - we all need a break. Mine are 9, 10, and 20. I miss the baby days too, but I remember how crazy they can be. Even now, my two youngers spend the night at the grandparents once a week and DH and I get some alone time. Another reason why Friday is my favorite day of the week. And we're almost there!
Checking in late. My visitor (Shad) and I sat on the deck and talked last night until after midnight but were both awake at our usual 5 AM. We've just sat and talked the past three hours, sipped a lot of coffee and petted the Doggage. Shad is showering and then we will be off to the LH for a late breakfast followed by a village tour.
Hey, this Kashi Go Lean Crunch is really good. Maybe too good. You guys sure this is legal?
Good Morning Ruthxxx and Ladybugnessa.
Oops, better go help push the kids out the door. I hear DH yelling "don't fart in your sister's face!"
Cottage: "Think Healthy Thursday", indeed! Sounds like it was rough getting your veggies in during the day yesterday, but WTG getting it done last night!
Schatzi: Get some rest, chickie! Delayed travel plans are always a big bummer!
Kara: I agree with femme, you and DH have to have your own time! Otherwise, I think you'd go crazy!
Femme: Aren't new puppies and all their goofiness great? She sure does sound like a little cutie! Glad the car wasn't too stuck to pull out!
Nessa: Have a great day!
Schmoodle: Man, what a funny bunch you have! Hope today isn't stormy so you can get your walk in!
Ruth: Have a fun day with Shad!
ME: No complaints here! Just had a wonderful SB breakfast and I'm just about ready to get ready for work. I was running around going crazy for a bit last night! DH mowed the back yard, then I mowed the front yard. After that, as I was putting dishes away and thinking about how I was going to relax later, DH announced that two of his friends from Mexico were on their way over. I, of course, couldn't say no as one of them he hasn't seen in FOREVER! They're both doctoral students here in Texas and have been doing their research in Mexico. I had to make a mad dash to get the house presentable and then hang out with them for a while. But, I will definitely relax tonight!
On to SB news...I'm still holding at 213, but due to the fact that I cheated on Monday AND Tuesday, I'm just going to do P1 until two weeks from yesterday. I'd love to lose 5 - 8 more on P1, but it's not really up to me -- it's up to my body. I've got a new goal, which I will post in my sig later, to lose 50 lbs by March 5 of next year. That's when I will be surprising DH with a "spontaneous" trip to NM for his birthday! (Of course by spontaneous, I mean that every last detail will be planned!) I've already talked to his boss to get the necessary days off, opened a new bank account so he won't spot receipts and stuff, and picked our cabin and route! I'm so excited -- I wish we were leaving tomorrow!
Well, time to get these dishes done! Have a great day!
Oh Man, I knew it was too good to be true. I checked out the sugar/fiber, etc., and the sugar was just under the guidelines. But it tastes pretty sweet, so probably better to stay away. Fortunately, I just had a sample box, because I'd eat the whole box today if I had more.
I went to the store yesterday so I am ready to hop on Phase 2 today (remember I am skipping phase1). I had been eating healthier trying to break myself in and use the food I had before I could go to the store. I lost 2lbs last week!! I had stayed at the same weight for over 2 weeks and since I know how hard it is for me to lose weight, not to mention while breastfeeding, I was ecstatic
We are planning a vacation for the 1st 2 weeks of July. My oldest will be 8 soon and wants to see the extended family for his birthday. I need to do a lot of planning for the actual in the car part of the trip since the rest of the family will be eating fast food.
Schatzi - I am with schmoodle, any travel tips you have would be most welcome!
Kim_star - Like most women, I love the planning of the trip just as much, (sometimes even more) as the trip itself.
Time is up, the baby is fussing and the boys are arguing. It's a good thing the baby sleeps 10hrs a night or I think I'd be going crazy, lol.
I am really having a crappy morning. I woke up and don't feel like doing anything and just eating what ever I feel like. So far I have tried to make the best of the Healthy Thursday and went with an egg over easy and 2 slices of turkey bacon w/ a big cup of coffee .
I am going to take my son to school shortly and when I come back I will clean the house and hopefully my mood will change to POSITIVE, so I can tackle the grocery store. Luckily I have a light work day, so I WON'T be working today.
Kara, I agree that all married couples with children do need some alone time, from all your posts it sounds like your a great mom so don't feel guilty about trying to keep your sanity .
Packed day here for me too. I have an art show opening tomorrow night, and today is really the last day to get everything hung on the walls and ready to go. I'm in a six-member group of artists who get together and make things...mostly photography and site-specific installation. We're the subjects of most of our work (in costume), so there's lot of pre-Beach pictures of me on the walls! There's one set of photos of me I've nicknamed "Jowls and Jowler."
