all these euphemisms women around here use! "TOM", "Aunt Flo", "That special time"...

Let me tell ya...today I am MENSTRUATING, and I feel pretty good.

In general, I have more PMS symptoms than anything else.

I started my exercise class on day 2 of my menstrual cycle and I am interested in seeing how much I lose.

I have been known to gain 10 pounds prior to the start of menstruation and lose it all by the 4th day.

We shall see how it goes this time!

I always want to eat the house, the street, my own arm... but during ovulation, not at ToM... maybe I am just odd - hormones are devilish things!

I tend to hover at the same weight for about five or six days (leading up to and during), and then lose two or three pounds around day four of my period.

Sooo, as long as I can keep both arms intact two weeks either side of my period, I can pretty much stay on plan!

I want to eat a lot too, but with me, it's weird...It's usually one specific food the week before my cycle. Sometimes weird foods, too. One month it was chicken burritos. Another month it was Philly Cheese Steaks. Another month it was Kit Kats. Another month it was White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake.

This month it's Shrimp Fettucine Alfredo - a total diet killer. Boy am I having a hard time fighting that craving.

I seem to "plateau" leading up to it (not a real plateau, but hovering or slightly gaining a few days before), and then very reliably, there's a 2-3 lb whoosh a couple days after my period ends. It's been consistent since I began charting my weight. I ignore that holding-steady part when I'm in it by reminding myself that a few pounds will fly off of me all too soon -- it's nice to be able to expect it.

I always start weighing a few pounds more about a day before, up until the day after its all over with. The good thing about it is, if I'm continuing to work on weight loss DURING, I not only lose that few pounds the day after, but can often see another pound drop that I lost in the interim.

Hmm well I've only been on my plan for about two cycles, but it seems to be that I consistently lose weight during my period. I do have a bit more of a craving for chocolate, but I usually have one sweet thing a day anyway (I have a sweet tooth), so maybe I will spend a little more calories on some chocolate, or indulge in a hot chocolate-like drink (I don't normally drink my calories). I haven't had any major problems keeping within my normal diet however, and I seem to drop weight fairly quickly.
My last cycle was last week and I dropped 3.5 lbs during it. Abnormal, perhaps. Do I mind? No!!
Maybe it is because I tend to exercise a bit more during the time. It helps my crampiness and makes me feel a lot better about myself.

The "red tide", "surfing the crimson wave"...there are so many different ways to avoid talking about a normal, healthy, regular part of most women's lives!

I must be really -----> <------ because I don't get cravings before, during or after TOM/Aunt Flow/Uncle Red and so on. I'm pretty irregular though so that could be why. I've been known to crave chocolate though *this is at any time* but I have chocolate bars that are on my diet that I eat. MMMMMM. I don't usually gain weight either..I tend to lose more. Like last week I was ending my cycle and lost more than twice as much as I normally would.

I generally plateau from ovulation to menstruation, and then lose 2-4 pounds afterwards. (It used to be more, but THANK GOD I haven't been bloating as badly since I've starting losing weight! It used to be horrific...)

I tend to bloat a bit, pack on the water weight. Which all melts off at the end of my cycle. (I'm on the pill that allots for only 4 periods a year, due to monster cramps)

The week before my period, I actually stop wanting to eat. Nothing interests me during that week. I'll nibble some toast and have breakfast and a good dinner, but I dont get hungry for either meal.

I get cravings during and after my periods. Usually for Cookies and Cream Haagen Dazs Ice cream >.>

I usually bloat up and want to eat everything in sight, especially CHOCOLATE. There's usually a 3-5 pound fluctuation in my weight in the days just before my period. The new form of birth control I am on seems to have taken the intense cravings away, though, which is super helpful.

I guess i'm one of those strange people who don't get cravings during my TOM. I do maybe put on 2 pounds of fluid weight, but that's about it. By the time I'm done, it has all gone away. I don't lose any extra weight after it's over, but i know that i don't "gain" weight during it....it's just fluid. I don't really notice any bloating really either...but I do have cramps the first day and have to take a good amount of tylenol to get it to ease off. But after the first day, i don't usually even have cramps.
