Default Taking Fiber

Recently a counselor at my COD informed me that a serving of fiber whether it be pill or powder was considered a starch and to include it in our diary as such. Otherwise I could be over doing the starches. Has anyone else been told that? I also use senna tea to help on those days when things aren't going as they should. Thanks!

Fiber passes through the body undigested, so you don't gain any calories from it. I think your counselor is mistaken.

I've never heard that you have to count a fiber supplement as a starch....I would challenge the counselor and ask her to have the LAWL dietician fax you this information in writing.

My center says that too, but I think that it is crazy. Like Suzanne said, fiber does not get digested anyway. Besides, LAWL tends to be a bit constipating, and how well can someone really lose weight if their body is not functioning correctly?

Thanks for the responses! I will ask for supportive material regarding the fiber.
