Default Help Help please American friends!!!!

I have been exercising quite seriously for a while now and two weeks ago I blew out my "good" knee. Put too much strain and now suffering a bit. What I need is a decent knee brace without breaking the bank. Yesterday I went to two different local drug stores and the "largest" of the knee braces was for a 21" knee -- it was too tight. Yes I am a big girl that likes to exercise and I hate that we are not expected to attempt to get fit.

Anyways enough whining -- what I need is help with any drugstores etc in the states that might carry larger size knee braces etc. I will be in Oregon next week and willing to check out some places. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this and knows of a make that is for larger people -- short of getting one custom made which I don't want to do - I am hoping there is something in the states.

Thanks

Hi JayJay...I am in Seattle. As you cruise down I-5 you will go past places like Walgreen, Bartell, Rite-Aid, etc. I poked around a couple of their websites and see that they have knee braces, XXL will accomodate a 22" knee. Those braces are quite expensive, upward of $90.

You may have better luck scoping out the internet, but to be safe you might want to ask your doctor. I have had braces prescribed by my physician, they were a perfect fit and my insurance paid for part of the cost.

Hi Vanetta - thanks for checking out the sites. We will definitely pop in on the way down (spending Friday night at the Hyatt in Seattle). Getting a good one will be worth it though.

Actually I made up my mind to get a proper one for my bad knee and hopefully take the strain off my good knee. With our extended medical insurance I can almost get it for free. But I still need something decent for my right knee.

Thanks again
