Default Could I lose 14lbs between June 15th and September 1st?

I wanna come back after the summer holidays looking thin in the new term.
I want it to be fresh start. I want people to notice me.
Do you think if I started On June 15th I could have lost a stone over the summer?

I'm 140 lbs (10 stone) and 5"1 in height.

I intend on eating 850 cals a day cause that worked for me before and doing an hour of walking before breakfast. Another hour before lunch and another hour in the evening. 200 sit ups and weights.

well...that's 2 1/2 months, so 14 pounds between 2 1/2 months is like 5 or 6 pounds a month...i would say it is feesable (sp??) lol. But you would really have to watch what you eat and excersize. And sometimes it takes time to figure out how many calories your body needs to lose the weight without losing muscle. But it is possible but just don't let it get to you if you don't make 14 pounds by sept. 1.

Hey Cate15!

Yes, that is possible! If you lost 1 pound a week, you would lose 11 pounds, and if you lost 2 pounds a week, you would obviously lose 22. A healthy rate of weight loss is generally 1 to 2 pounds a week, average.

How are you planning to lose the weight? Calorie counting, a program like Weight Watchers or South Beach, or.... ?

To be honest, that sounds reasonable. Do you have a plan you are going to follow? If not, you'll have to watch your calorie intake (and remember that less is not always more!) - don't drop under 1200/day - and up your exercise, but I would think 1lb-1.5lbs a week will work nicely for you. Your body might like to start at, say, 1600 cal/day for the first week, and drop 50 calories a week until you reach 1200. It's one way to start... you may have a better plan in mind!

Good luck, and keep checking in here and telling us how it is going!!

Cate15,
I am also going with what everybody else is saying. I have the same goal lol, my first goal is to 180 (I think thats about 12.11 stone or something). And thats for August... I've got 11 pounds to go!! My next one is to lose at least 10 pounds more by October 1st for the begining of my first semester at uni. I wish you all the best... and stay motivated and dedicated to the "new healthier you!" You can do this!!

That definitely sounds reasonable. Just stick to a healthy eating and exercise plan and you're sure to be pounds lighter come September.

As far as counting calories, like HeatherAngel suggested, since you are only 140 lbs to start with it might take some time til you find the right range to lose within. You are smaller then me and I know at this point if I ate 1600 calories a day I would be GAINING weight, not losing. But then again I've been at this a while. It is a trial and error thing. Did you have a plan in mind?

People usually notice when I lose 14 pounds!

To lose 1.5 pounds a week you'd have to reduce your intake or increase your exercise to get rid of 750 calories a day. That ought to get you to your goal.
