Angry Brand new to this, desperate for help

Hello I am new to this forum and forums in general, only started to use them a month ago when our family started the Feingold program for ADHD type symptoms. I am desperatley looking for something to help me lose weight and figured accountability couldn't hurt, are there any homeschooling moms or feingolders here?

I really want to lose weight and almost bought some hoodia today, but since I feel that even that type of supplement is potentially bad (and hard to be sure its real) I ended up buying a fiber filler type pill and some omega 3's and a green tea extract for metablolism booster. My main problem is nothing I do seems to help, recently I spent 8 weeks at the Y working out tons, hour cardio and 30 min. weights (from doing nothing) and watching what I eat....I lost nothing, in fact I gained. I stopped doing it because of a busy schedule and nothing changed but the little definition I had leaving. I have tried every kind of healthy plan you can imagine and nothing seems to work. So I am gonna try something less extreme, eat as little as possible (1200-1600 cal.) and healthy as possible and do moderate exercise (yoga, walking). Maybe I can ease my body into it....I also plan on doing a juice fast to kick it off. Drinking freshly juiced fruits and veggies only for a few days.

Along with this I have to avoid wheat and most dairy (cheese, butter, yogurt, sour creme are ok) and we do Feingold and that gets rid of all artifical additives, helps my sons add/adhd symptoms tons!!!

Any help or advice or anyone who is similar please let me know! I am currently 202 (long time ago after son I was 230) and would love to see 140 but am not sure that is realistic so I set my goal for 150. Truly though I would have a party at 180, heck when I get there I might just do that!!

Thanks for listening.

I just wanted to say to 3FC!

If you feel you are doing everything right, then the first thing to try is to be absolutely sure of that by weighing and measuring and also tracking everything you are eating. If you haven't done this before, certain things can be a real shock - such as how many calories things like granola and nuts have and how small an actual portion is.

Also, there are other benefits to working out other than just weight loss. Did you see improvement in your overall wellbeing? Did you have more energy?

Yes I have done the complete calorie counting, to the point where I could tell exactly how many calories and how much of what you had. It almost became an obsession, and it was time consuming. I do plan on going back to it somewhat but I can't do it like I did before, I wouldn't eat without weighing stuff and I constantly obesessed over the cal and fat content.

I did see some improvement in well being and due to finances plan on going back to the gym in Sept. but since there was no loss from the working out intensely (I did speak to trainers about it and they suggested maybe I shocked my body) figured I could spend the summer ramping up with walks and such. Thanks for your reply!
