Default I want to eat _____ right now, but this is why I shouldn't.

Hi everyone! I wanted to create a challenge that is a little bit different. It is more of an accountability sort of thing.

This is how it works. Anytime you get a craving, or you feel like you are about to eat something you know you shouldn't, come here. State the food you want to eat, and then explain why you SHOULDN'T eat it.

By the time you do that, maybe you can talk yourself down and settle for a glass of water instead of going off the deep end. I think it helps to actually think out the reasons you don't need that extra snack or second helping.

I hope this helps someone besides me LOL. Lord knows I need to find SOMETHING to stop my snacking!

I want to eat another bowl of cereal right now, but this is why I shouldn't.

1) I am right at my target calories already.
2) I already had ONE bowl.
3) I am not really hungry, I just love how the cereal tastes.

Wow that was rational and easy LOL.

I want to go to Chipotle (cause that is not "technically" fast food)...but a burrito has like a thousand calories and I am not very good at only eating part..plus I put turkey meat in the fridge to thaw this morning. So off to make turkey burgers! Great thread sockmonkey70.

I want to eat EVERYTHING right now!! Because, this is the time of night everyone has gone to bed and I usually ingest the contents of the cabinet while I work!!

Very liberating!!!!

I shouldn't --
Because I did good all day
Because I will never get thin this way
Because then the kids will have no snacks for their lunches
Because nothing ever tastes as "good as I remember it"
Because I will feel like crap in the morning, which could potentially lead to a bad day of eating

Because -- you are all passing on the munchies and I can too

Wow guys, thanks for posting. I am glad to see I don't battle the munchies alone. I always imagine that all of you guys are perfect dieters, and I must be a huge slacker when I raid the pantry at 1AM.

Hey I did this last night and didn't even know about this challenge! I went to the corner store for milk, and I *really* wanted a little bag of M&Ms. But I talked myself out of it because I had been good all day

GREAT challenge!

I really want to eat biscotti right now, but this is why I shouldn't:

If I don't start telling myself "no" to excess empty calories, it's going to take a lot longer to get back on track.

I already ate a balanced breakfast of enough calories, and I have my meals planned out for the day.

I have to get in the habit of ordering *just* coffee, and no accompanying pastries.

I love this thread

I want to eat some pistachios right now, but this is why I shouldn't:

1) I am eating a supper with a higher fat content, so I need to lay off the fat grams til supper.
2) I am not hungry, it is just a craving.
3) I feel more thirsty than hungry, so I am just going to get some water instead.

GREAT idea for a thread!

I wanted to eat something salty and crunchy.

I grabbed what seemed like a good choice (A Cliff Bar) and opened the corner, smelled it and then told myself that I needed water instead.

So, I am not snacking because:

I really am thirsty and not hungry.

I don't need to eat when I am not hungry.

I really want to be healthier and burn fat more than I crave a snack.

This is such a fantastic idea!!

I want to eat the lemon cupcake my husband brought home for me (he said, "I brought it just in case you had some extra WW points to use") but I'm not going to because it won't be worth the extra calories. I ran in the 90-degree heat today -- why would I put back the calories I worked so hard to burn?

I want to eat McDonald's right now, but this is why I shouldn't:

I only have 200 calories left.
I ate McDonald's twice this week already (BAD BAD ME)
It is just a craving, it will go away..it can't be worse than the cigarette cravings....

What a great thread Sockmonkey, and I am not sure about the craving not being worse than a cigarette, McDonalds has a pretty good pull also. WTg for staying away from it, proud of you
