Default Taking It Into Thursday Chick Chat

I borrowed that title thread from the weatherman this morning. We've had a string of spectacular days this week, and it's supposed to last through the weekend! Jake's been busy getting the pool ready for the grandkids for Memorial Day, so the season is officially underway!
Another busy day for me today, and yesterday was really crazy. I'm really looking forward to this long weekend to get some much needed rest.

Pour yourself a cup of your morning brew and let's get this day started.

Good morning, Cottage and Chickas to come. It's here today and promises to be very hot.

I plan to get any gardening done this morning and I sure have lots to do! I went a little nuts at the garden centres yesterday and have Church and Fairgrounds plants besides a "few" for myself. I did the Church planting yesterday but will need to run up there to water again later today.

Right now though, I'm going to take my breakfast out onto the deck and watch the hummingbirds at the feeder. The guys will be here before eight today and my cabinets are being delivered!

Enjoy the morning.

I know how relieved you are to be seeing progress in your kitchen, Ruth! It's looking like the end is finally in sight.
I know all too well what it's like to go nuts at the garden center. I've been stopping in all week and now I have a patio full of plants that I have to find time to get potted. Jake wants to put in a few tomatoes this year, and I'm thinking about getting a couple zucchini plants, too.

Well, I'd better not linger here too much longer. Super busy these days with the Devon Horse Show starting today, Spring Concerts, school play, and, oh, did I mention Polo season has started, too? Thank goodness school is over in 2 more weeks, that should ease things up a little.

Hi
Speaking of plants I bought a little tree on clearance. I planted it yesterday but I think it might be dead. I let you know if anything sprouts this summer. I also have another little tree to plant, some tomato plants, flowers, califlower etc...Can find the time???

I have been getting ready to go camping for the weekend. We are also having a bathroom put in our basement. Lastnight we had to get the room cleaned out...a big junk room to make room for the workers who are coming today.

After camping I have to get ready for my mom to come and stay with us (remember she broke her leg--she should be released soon). Next get ready for vacation in two weeks. We were going to Fl. to visit my sister but now my sister has to come up here and take care of mom and my dog because it was too late to cancel our vacation...wow life is funny. Thank goodness school is over. I got an A in my class on Revelation. I am still waiting to hear from my theology class.

Well it's off to work I go. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Hey Chicks,
Everyone seems busy as usual. I am no exception. I have a meeting with my DD's gifted teacher to see if they will retain her in the gifted program next year, standard procedure. I'm dreading it though because DH is working and I have to take my 2 little ones with me to the parent-teacher conference. The school is also off-base which means I have to drive to it which totally sucks. I can't just walk like I can to her school she normally attends.
I'm also dreading my strength-training workout. I would much rather do cardio but of course you need to do strength training if you don' want to be too saggy after losing weight. Other than that everything is same 'ol, same 'ol. Oh the glorious life of a sahm.
Take care all,
Pohai

Aaaaarrrrgggggghhhhh! My cabinets are here and two of the bigger pieces will not fit through the door! They will have to be taken apart and then put back together in the kitchen. I'm really getting discouraged and know I'll not have a usable kitchen again for this weekend.

So I'm going to get a coffee and go sit on my wonderful front porch and smell the lilacs and the bouquet of lily-of-the-valley I have out there.

This too shall pass.

Blue Blue BLUE!!! My mood? Nah! It's the SKY - a crispy beautiful color!

We've had a series of spectacular days too Cottage!

Ruth: I got my first humingbird at the feeder yesterday and we have a baby woodpecker learning how to feed itself at our bird feeder A gawky looking thing pecking away at the plastic tube that holds the feed.. Mamma and Papa woodpecker are watchin near by and papa is bringing him seeds and feeding him to supplement his new attempts at it. And now we have a juvy cardinal chirping and shivering his feathers at his father on the deck hopping about and feeding the juvy. How I doooo enjoy watching birds!

Browneyed: I hope they retain her! and ya gotta do whatcha gotta do

Stinger: enjoy camping! I wish I was going... Loooove to camp, when I retire I want a Winneabago so I can travel about and visit all the wonderful places the States have to offer.. oooh and Canada toooooo!

I really should be doing something adult like...but instead, I think I'll play my Nancy Drew PC game for a bit

Tonight Chicken, baked sweetpotato and steamed veggies
