Default Friends not noticing you've lost weight?

So I've lost about 15 pounds now and no one has seemed to notice. (my tracker says 13 but that's because I only update it after WW weigh in)

I know I'm thinner and that my pants are getting very lose (which probably means I should be wearing the next size down) but no one at work or any of my friends seem to have noticed or said anything. I'm hoping they notice eventually. I guess I'm just feeling a little discouraged and wonder if others have experienced this as well?

I think it takes more than 15 pounds for others to notice, are you still wearing the same clothes that you were wearing before you lost weight?Lose a few more and get new clothes to fit your new body . People will notice.Don't be discouraged, you know something yhey don't know.

No one really noticed here at my work either but they see me every day and don't see the difference. Just every so often someone will mention that they can see it in something different I wear

You know it and that is what counts

New clothes make a big difference. So does the style of clothing you wear.

People can't really tell if I've lost- or gained- weight but I wear a lot of professional, tailored clothing. I also look old and uptight most of the time but hey, call What Not to Wear on me already! How much worse does it have to get?!?

I had a former coworker who clearly dressed in the "don't notice me" style and no one noticed her weight loss either until we encouraged her to go shopping to replace the baggy pants and XXXXXXXXXL t-shirts that went down to her ankles with clothes that fit properly.

No matter what, go shopping, hottie!!! There's a sale somewhere!

Yes, also people that see you everyday might not notice as much as someone that hasn't seen you in awhile and even then they might think you changed your hair or something else. :P But give it a litle more time. Trust me ~ I felt the same way. But when it happens and they do notice you're on top of the world and if was worth the wait!

Sometimes people notice and don't say anything and then some people are just clueless. My boss JUST said something to me last week!

I agree with everyone else. Go shopping for some cute clothes. You'll feel better in clothes that fit properly. I know I do!

This may be more true than any of us want to admit. One of my good friends STILL hasn't said a single word, and it's been 80 freaking pounds. I'm sorry, but you CAN see a difference between a size 22 and a size 10. On the other hand, she "mentioned" the other day that she's joining WW.....hhmmmm, wonder where she got the idea to do that?????

In some cases, I've learned not to say anything because I don't want to embarrass or offend the person. "You look great!" can imply you looked awful before to a fragile person. I've actually had people go off on me for this. Yipes!

lafayette took the words right out of my mouth!

i have a friend who doesnt like it when people say something because she feels like it is calling attention to how big she was before.

people will start to say something. and even if they don't, trust me, they notice. and they think you look great!

WOW Kelly - I can't imagine my friend never mentioning that much of a weight loss. My SIL who started when I did but quit because she was "too busy" has put on all her weight again but she asks me how WW is going and where I'm at. It's been slow but she knows my track record.

I am in the exact same boat... 15 pounds down and not many people have noticed. My sister even said "You don't look like you've lost 15 pounds..." which I *didn't* want to hear...
But lately I'm getting compliments because I've been wearing tank tops...

So I agree, change the clothes! it will probably make a difference and people will notice!

This is one of the reasons I really miss my MIL! She used to always ask me if I'd lost weight, and if I hadn't she would say, "Well you sure look like you have! You look great". Such a morale booster.

I'm sorry no one is noticing. No one I know has noticed either, except my husband. He notices. And compliments me.

I agree, going down a size in clothes might help.

And maybe it's how you carry your weight. I started out at 167, and my mom argued with me. I have that happen alot. People don't believe me, because of the way I carry it.

Lafayette...are you a fragile person??? (hee hee)...only kidding. I totally know what you mean. I think though a lot of people don't comment because they don't want to offend. What if they noticed that you've lost weight, but actually you gained weight...and then they would wonder if you were telling the truth anyways. I let time tell. Once you get into those new clothes, once your skin looks glowing (because you are hydrating it more!) and your hair has that great sheen to it...all those things are noticeable! Embrace all the great things right now that are making you look and feel better! Don't just celebrate the pounds, but celebrate all the other stuff. People will start noticing not just the weight but your new found confidence!

You are so right. My family tells me constantly how well I'm doing with my weight loss and how great I look, but other people who I've been around for years have not said a thing and I've lost nearly 50 lbs. I learned that people do not want to be rude and say the wrong thing, maybe implying that you looked terrible before, so they say nothing to keep from offending.
