So, I cheated all weekend long. (this is after a month and a half of hardcore sticking to my plan) I didn't do an all out binge-fest or nothing, but I definately strayed farther off my path than I should have. I am, surprisingly, not beating myself up over it as bad as I thought I would. Normally, this is the point in my diet where I completely just give up, but I am back at it this morning. Part of the reason I cheated was because I have been stuck in a rut and fluctuating up and down about 4 pounds. Friday it was the same thing so I let myself think that I was justified with my behavior. Luckily, it only effected my weight by not even 2 pounds. So, I'm back at it...
well congrats on getting back on track today. that is the best thing you could have done. i on the other hand did not over eat this weekend, i think i probably under ate. I had one wrap and fries on saturday from a wing restraunt, and yesterday was only 3 slices of cheese pizza by Fresscheta. Just enjoy that you ate some different things this weekend and are now back on track with your healthy eating. it's okay to splurge once in a while, just not every weekend. :-)
I didn't eat as planned on Saturday (didn't go horribly off), but I didn't sweat it. Got right back on the bandwagon on Sunday, and today too. Just got to let it go and move on, and congrats on doing so!
If I think of all the times I fell off of the wagon and then didn't pick myself up, well I don't have to tell you guys here. If only I had gotten RIGHT BACK ON plan, I never, ever would have gotten to be 287 lbs. One day of off eating was enough to keep me off plan for MONTHS. There are ALWAYS going to be bad days, the absolute key has got to be to not let them turn into weeks and days. One day of eating the "wrong" stuff did not get me to being morbidly obese.
Good luck to getting back to the program today. You've definitely got the right attitude.
Thank Goodness each day is a new beginning..
I too fell down! but I am back on program again.. it's of no use to beat yourself up over it.. it's perfectly normal..
I was away over the weekend, and there were foods that normally I wouldn't be eating... but I managed to exert some control over it at least, and I didn't do too badly when I added up the calories.
As you get more practiced at staying with a plan, you'll find that even when you want to eat exceptional foods, you can work with that.
