Default Weekend Warbling - May 19 & 20

This has not been a good week - too much negative stuff happening but I am going to try to de-stress over this 3-day weekend. In a few minutes, I'll be off to the Church with another load of perennials for the sale. No doubt there will be folks there shortly after seven although it's not officially supposed to start until eight.

Kevin comes this morning to finish up the porch with flashing and downspouts and, if he's done this afternoon, I am going for a nap. The Girls are home from the kennel and will be sleeping most of the day so I'll join them.

How's your weekend shaping up? I hope to get some gardening done.

Wish I were going to that perrenial sale, Ruth! I have Andrea's babyshower this afternoon, which I'm looking forward to, but I have to find some time to get more plants and annuals, too. Enjoy your weekend with your darling doggies, I know they're happy to be back home with you, and try to think positive thoughts.

Jake and I are going to grab some breakfast, and I have to pick up the cake at 8. Monica said she and the girls will be out here early to help set up and decorate, so I hope she's on time! So far the sky is clear and the sun is shining, but rain is expected to move in later. Yesterday turned out to be a nice day, too. Crazy, even the weatherman can't get it right!

Morning gals!

Ruth Hope that you have a restful weekend- you deserve it! What is Victoria Day?

Cottage I am sure that all will go well with the shower this weekend. Is this for your daughter in law? (You have probably mentioned that, but I haven't been around much!)

Schatzi Enjoy your day!

Me- Just hanging out with a cup of coffee waiting for the girls to wake up. The are actually sleeping in this morning, which is lovely. Abigail has a t-ball game at 4:00 and then DH and I are going on a date! Sadly, this will be the first date we have been on in the year 2007. We are horrible about making time for each other.....

Have a good day gals!

Things are falling into place. I finished up a 48 slide presentation for the Walking Den Leader training next Wednesday. I completed the book and sent to my district executive to have 250 copies made. I just printed out and laminated some Women's restroom signs that will go on three of the port-a-potties for camp. Last year they used tape to mark the women's with a "W" and we kept having Wolfs and Webelos using them.

Some of us are going to a CPR class at noon today. I was hoping more of the staff would attend but apparently it's graduation day and that is impacting many of my staff. Oh, well, we may have to try to squeeze in another session if we can make time. I found a place that will provide the scissor lift for our egg drop on June 15th. It's more expensive than I'd hoped for and I'm going to have to made a long drive the Monday of camp to arrange for it but it is cheaper than other places that have them. So let's see, I've got the school bus taken care of, the storage POD, the scissor lift, the hay, the portable restrooms. I now need to start shopping around for prices on ice. We go through something like 40 bags a day so it's a big expense. I even woke up this morning with an idea on how we can mark out the archery and BB gun ranges. I'll just have to run it by the Range Masters and see what they think.

Brian and DH will be at a scouting skating party while I'm in CPR class. I've printed out registration forms for them to bring so we can get the rest of our pack registered for Twilight Camp. It will be here before I know it!

Plans with my daughter fell through, so I got up early and worked. We decided a few minutes ago to take a little trip to Baton Rouge and go visit Magnolia Mound Plantation to get some shots now that everything is blooming, then go out to eat, then go to Whole Foods. My oldest son goes to LSU, so we thought we'd see if he wanted to go out to eat with us, but when I called him, he's in New Orleans...seems that yesterday he participated in a "Bar-a-thon"... 6 bars in 6 miles. To be young again..
My youngest son and his girlfriend decided last night to go to a beach in Florida for the day, so husband are all alone and ready to go out on a date!

Hi y'all! Cottage, enjoy the rain. We here in North Florida are having these horrible wildfires and would love some rain! I've had trouble breathing from the smoke over the past week or so and I'm not even in the worst area.

As to W.O.E., I love the Beach! This is my 13th day (lucky 13!) and I have lost 11 lbs! Of course last night at the school picnic one of the skinnie minnies gave me that famous "don't lose weight too quickly" smirk. I am not taking diet advice from a woman who has never been above a size 6!

Anyway, it is a gorgeous sunny day and I am going to try to do some much needed spring cleaning. Thanks for all the encouragement I've been getting from reading your posts these last 2 weeks. Love y'all!

Default Its Raining again.........

Hello chicks..... it is raining here again today I am getting very depressed and need some sunshine. I was up early and taught my dance class we had a long practice so we are ready for the show next friday night. Then picked up dog food for the furkids then dashed to Candian Tire to exchange on of my moonlights that was not working. Then off to two grocery stores for food for the non fur people. DH and I did some gardening last night in the rain and in the dark but it is looking great I will take some pics when dd gets home with my camera.

Ruth hope the sale goes well and you are feeling better after a long nap and snuggle with the furkids. Take care chick.

cottage hope you have fun at the baby shower. They are always fun and I love seeing all the new baby things. Enjoy your day.

Schatzi- have fun at the doggie park. I wish we had one here.

Kiko ENJOY your date. It is so hard to find time for mom and dad when the kids are small. But they will grow up and then you end up with more time for you guys cause they don't want to hang out with you anymore, which makes me sad and happy all at once. Take care and dress up real pretty tonight.

Barb Good lord girl I thought that I was one busy mom but you are the winner. Make sure you take a little me time. Have fun at your CPR course.

femmecreole Sorry that your plans fell through with your dd but hope you and DH have a fun date.

LawChick- on the 11 pounds lost. Keep up the good work. Don't you just want to feed those size 6 chicks a big ole cup of calories. Don't worry about her just keep up the great work. Hope you enjoy your sunny day.

Me- Just enjoying the quiet of the house dh is out with a friend oldest dd is off for the night to her friends house and youngest is still away til tonight. We are having friends over for a bque in the rain and drinks and watching the race. Life is just wonderful. Have a great day.

Sleepy Sunday Morn

LC: Would love to see pics of your gardening..How was the BBQ?

Femme: What did you and DH end up doing?

Lawchick: That is Fantastic!

Barb: I don't know who's having more fun - you or your scouts! Enjoy !

Kiko: we miss you coming round every morn for

Let's see, my big adventure for the day is possibly going to the city to an art fair.. yesterday we took the furbabies to Dog Day. I should have named Casey "The Mayor".. she wanted to sniff every doggie Darby just wanted to sniff from afar, she seemed a bit overwhelmed by it all ..It was fun to see all the different breeds.
Time to fill up the tankaroo and head to the store for the Sunday paper!

Quickie as I'm dragging a bit this morning.

The sale at the Church was really busy (and profitable) so I was wiped yesterdaya fternoon. An hour's nap helped and then Hershey and I went to my sister's place for dinner. Her grand baby (3) was there and fell in love with Hershy who was on her very best "Nana" behaviour. It was quite delightful to see a tiny princess in costume leading around this big black dog and talking to her. Lucy the Devil Dog stayed home to guard the house.

Church happens at 8:30 this morning and then I will take a dog and go visit Harry. I'm still not sure when Margo is arriving so will play it by ear. Yes, my house is a mess but she's a great friend and won't give a hoot about that.

Doggage are woofing up a storm so I need to go get them in before the wake up the Village!

Have a shiny day!

CPR class was a lot of fun yesterday. I did take some time in the afternoon to just relax and read. That was nice.
DH picked up pizza for dinner. It wasn't whole wheat and I ate more than I should have but at least it was grilled vegetables. Yum! I got grocery shopping done after dinner so I'm ready for meals now.

This morning will be church and then lunch and then I'm meeting my program director and two of our BB gun instructors to go to the warehouse. We need to see what we need for the BB guns and we are bringing water in buckets to check out the raingutter regatta equipment and see if it is okay or if it leaks. We also need to make sure the boats we have fit in the gutters. If there's time we may head over to the park to figure out where to fit the ranges and where the scissor lift will go for the egg drop.

Whew! Margo just called and she, her DD and my grand Dog will be up for lunch tomorrow! I love them dearly but coming today for overnight would have been a hassle. I'm going to go visit Harry, have an afternoon nap and get some planting done if it doesn't rain.
