Default Dry Skin..

Within the last few days, I've noticed that my skin on my arms/legs/body is really drying out. I drink lots of water and have always covered myself with lotion/cream every time I bathe, so I figure it has to be from cutting out all the fat/butter. I use Obagi on my face and it is not drying out, but I sure can't afford to Obagi my whole body!

Guess I need some kind of supplement. Does anyone take any kind of oil orally that helps with dry skin that won't put on poundage?
This is my 4th week on SB, so I guess it took a while to rid my body of great globs of butter!

Are you getting enough GOOD fat? Remember that olive oil, nuts and the butter substitutes are OK on SBD. Your body MUST have a certain amount of fat to utilize the nutrients in the rest of your food. I forget what the figure is but I think it's 20 to 40 grams per day.

Yep, I get plenty of good fat. I have dry skin to begin with..inherited that, lucky me. A client/good friend of mine just told me to take flax seed and or omega3 oil capsules. I'll give it a try. I use a lot of olive oil when cooking and do eat a good amount of nuts. I don't really care for any kind of "fake" margarine or butter (before sb I only used real butter)..but I do spray on a little of that spray butter stuff on cooked vegetables and or whole grain bread every now and again.

I agree with your friend. I take 1t of Nordic Naturals lemon flavor oil (strangely it's not gross.) I had the same issues of my skin being drier and it's really helped. I'm not on SB (calorie counter), but I cut out a lot of fat as well. Omega-3s are good for so many things too; it certainly can't hurt.
