The sun is just up and the moon is still hanging out in the southern sky. It looks like another lovely day in the neighbourhood! The Girls are fed and pottied and loafing on the deck keeping eyes peeled for terrorists aka squirrels!
Today is going to be a biggie. The Hort. Society Sale is scheduled to begin at the Fair Hall at 9 and I am debating whether or not to go. I've still not planted what I bought last weekend! Kevin and Robbie will be here around 7 to start replacing the porch roof, I hope to get to garden tilling and Cousin Ian, who doesn't know how to use the phone, will be "dropping in "sometime"! He may be making his own "spot of tea". The kitchen reno is scheduled for Monday so I need to do all the laundry this weekend as it looks like I'll be in a construction zone for two weeks! My poor darling doggies are going to be in the kennel a lot!
Well, as Dad used to say "A field is not ploughed by turning it over in your mind" so I'll get my day cranked up.
What's going on chez-toi? What are your Mother's Day plans or are you going to be surprised?
Good morning, Ruth. I was going to say you're up awfully early for a Saturday, but you're on Eastern time, right? 6:00 isn't so bad as my time made it look!
I tried to get up before the girls this morning, but E followed me out of bed. L is still happily snoozing in my bed. Hoping to have a nice day today. Mom should be calling in the next hour or 2 to let me know if they're coming or not. If they come, we're going to move the piano and sofa in, do some major furniture rearranging, then head to Hutchinson to visit Grandma. Mom & Daddy will go home from there, and I hope to get home and put the girls straight to bed. If things go my way, the guy I've been seeing occasionally is going to come over and hole up in the basement with me for awhile tonight. Which reminds me I need to run out and get some beer for him at some point today...
And if none of that happens...we may brave an outing to River Fest for awhile. Or maybe we'll do that tomorrow.
Got up early to work so I could play the rest of the day.
I played hooky yesterday afternoon and my husband and I drove in to New Orleans to play tourist. We went out to eat (grilled tuna) on Greek Salad. Then we went to an exhibit on the history of New Orleans food. Then did some shopping/strolling in the Vieux Carre,(got some gorgeous linen/lace pillow cases on sale and went to my favorite Parfumeur to get some tea olive soap/lotion) then went to visit my Daughter, then to Whole Foods to get some stuff I can't get here..all in all a great day.
Today, after finishing work, I want to get out and cut grass before it gets too hot and just putter around the house on a couple of projects. My kids are all coming in to spend the night for tomorrow's Mother's Day "surprise", so I'm going to grill some salmon and shirmp this evening. Should be a nice weekend.
femme: What a lovely day you had yesterday! Sounds like it was just perfect!
Jet: Enjoy a romantic evening tonight!
Ruth: hooo boy you got a full plate yet again today and allll next week!!!! Better eat yer wheaties and spinach - yer gonna need it--not for the work but dealing with a houseful of testosterone (lucky you!!! )
The weathers put a damper on the town festival today--and no rain date.. so we'll play it by ear... Maybe I'll do some heavy cleaning today... or maybe not
Last night I went down with my program director Terri and we got the booth setup for the Scout Show. We spent all day today running the booth. We let the kids make swaps (totems) out of craft foam while we told them all about Twilight Camp. I will not talk about the food porn I ate today but I only got to walk away from the booth for one bathroom break so I had to rely on what food my son brought me (I'm sure I could have found SOMETHING a little healthier).
I just spent an hour working but now I need to get those meals planned so I can get grocery shopping early tomorrow. I'm meeting leaders at the district warehouse tomorrow afternoon so I'm going to be a bit busy tomorrow. It was touching how many of the boys made their swaps and then wrote I love Mom on them.
It's been a busy day! We got up early and went out for breakfast, then stopped at the garden center where we bought some beautiful plants for the garden. After a quick visit with Mom & Dad, we spent the rest of the day working in the yard and planting the new perrenials. Monica and the girls came out to spend the day, and we put them to work, too. Afterwards, I was too tired to cook, so we all had a quick clean-up and went to Applebee's for supper. We're having a nice rainshower now, so that will help get the plants off to a good start. Sounds like everyone else has been busy today, too.
I had another sleepless night and finally decided to say the heck with it, and just got up. I'll try to catch a nap later today. I know Monica won't be out today since they were here yesterday, but Dustin and my DIL will most likely stop by. Jake and Dustin usually prepare dinner for us on the grill, but I don't know what the plans are for today. I know Jake and I will go for our usual breakfast at Cracker Barrel, and I'd like to visit the garden center again today, and I have to pick up a few things at the supermarket, too. Other than that, I just plan to have a nice relaxing day.
So, what's going on in your part of the world today?
We have sunshine and birdsong today - again! I am going to try to remember these lovely days when I get into my November slump!
We've already done the MD celebration last weekend so today will be a usual Sunday: Church, a bit of gardening, Lucy's afternoon class and then my darlings go to the kennel until Friday! The kitchen reno starts tomorrow and the chaos and confusion will be incredible and doesn't need the punctuation of two barking and stressed dogs!
Have a lovely Mother's Day and cherish your families.
Evening ladies - Guess I just came here to vent... feeling funny this evening, and thought I could write it out instead of turning to food... feeling hungry so I kinda want to sort my feelings out before I eat.
So my boyfriend's apartment got broken into on Friday, and he wants to get out of there. So I'm a realtor and we're going to go house hunting for him. We've been together for 4 years now, and I REALLY want us to move in together. We've discussed this many times, and he's just not ready (but definitely sees it happening). We even went to a counselor to try to figure it out and basically decided that we would hold off discussion until the Fall when his lease was up and he'd be wanting to buy a house. Well he's ready to buy now, but he's still not ready to live together... And I REALLY don't know why it's so important to me... I've heard about all the problems that come up after living together... but I'm just ready. Ready to not have to lug the dogs back and forth between our places, but mostly ready to combine houses. We're in a serious relationship, marriage is more than likely in our future. And I guess what bugs me the most is that I have to sit by and wait for him to suddenly be ready. And right now it's annoying enough going back and forth and we live 5 mins away from eachother... he's only going to get further away once he buys a house and it'll only get more annoying. So I had promised to drop it, and there's no point in discussing it because I really don't want to talk him into anything he's not ready to do.
It's been a stressful weekend for both of us, hard dealing with getting his apartment back into shape, dealing with the cops etc and I really don't want to add to his stress by bringing it up again... But as I type this I'm kinda crying. I REALLY don't understand why this is so important to me, but it obviously is.
I guess that's all I've got to say... waiting around for the BF to get over to my place.
