Default Forge Ahead Friday Chat - May 11

Good morning, Beach Babes! It's Friday and it's Spring! What more could we ask? Well, five pounds off would be nice.

Another busy day ahead around here but the Girls and I had coffee and breakfast on the deck and discussed whether or not to take down the bird feeder for the summer. Those little feathered critters are sloppy eaters and I am tired of sweeping seeds and hulls off the deck. The Girls were pretty non committal about the whole issue!

I'm off to work out for 7:30, have some painting to do when I get home and then need to go to the city to get some shutters. That'll pretty much fill up my day although I sure would like to get some gardening done later. One of these days I must retire.

What's movin' and shakin' for you today? Tine for a chat?

Happy Friday! I could ask for a few things. Where's that genie when you need him? Not a lot going on today. Amazing how some weeks are packed to the hilt and others are crazy lazy. I suppose I should clean up the house a bit if Mom & Daddy are coming tomorrow. I cannot wait to get that piano.

Ruth - Enjoy your busy day. Never retire!! That would mean you've decided that you're old.

Everyone else have fun today, too.

Default The T. G. I. F. Chat!

Good Morning!

After tossing and turning all night, I ended up oversleeping, darned! Oh, well, at least I did manage to get a little sleep!
It's very muggy and humid here today, it seems to sap all the energy out of me, and the day hasn't even begun yet. I'm hoping my coffee will help. I have to take Maggie to school today and pick her up, but it's Grandparent's Day at Audrey's school, so both sets of her grandparents will be with her. Maggie's nose will probably be out of joint, so I'll have to come up with something fun to do with her to cheer her up.
Jake and I plan to spend the weekend working in the yard, and maybe going to a few yardsales. I wonder what Mother's Day will bring?

Morning, Ruth and Jet, I just knew someone would be posting the same time as me!
Ruth, I know what you mean about those birds, we finally resigned ourselves to taking down our feeders because of the mess. I miss watching the birds, though.
Jet, I'll bet you're excited, finally getting your piano! Are the girls going to have lessons? Enjoy your visit with your parents this weekend!

HI Everyone

I had such unbelievable luck yesterday! I went into a bookshop and was just browsing when I saw the SOuth Beach Diet Cookbook. Thought I had to take it although it was a bit pricey When I got to the cashier to pay she told me it was marked down to only a third of the price on the book Couldn't believe my luck!!!

In addition, I am down almost 2 pounds

Unfortunately before I can start to enjoy my weekend, I am going for an ultrasound of my breasts. Too many people around me has died of breast cancer the last few weeks. Hopefully it will be clear.

Busy, busy day! Got some client work done, now I'm off to school in a few minutes. No kids at school today...we are registering the "new crop" for next year..I hate registration..have to sit on little cafeteria chairs made for 5 year old for hours writing the same stuff over and over again on forms.

When I get home, we are thinking about driving in to New Orleans to visit my daughter and check out the redone Whole Foods and see if there is anything different/fun we can get there, then go out to eat

Oh, I bought myself a Mother's Day present yesterday..then I told my husband it was from him. It's an mp3 player/FM radio that is adorable...the same size as a thumb/flash drive..about the size of a cigarette lighter. I got it all programed with a bunch of music, then Cat Stevens and I went out and raked the front yard. I love this new toy!

My youngest son and his girlfriend have their last finals for the semester this morning and they are in the dining room doing some last minute studying, so I'm trying to be quiet..After this, they will be seniors and hopefully by this time next year, they'll be off to law school. I'm pondering what to eat for breakfast and think it may end up being leftover meatloaf and a V8! Really NOT in an egg mood this morning and don' t want to be banging pans.

femmecreole, I love your idea of buying yourself a mother's day gift and telling your husband it is from him. Maybe I should try it myself.

Good morning, Beach Friends. I apologize for being MIA yesterday. I've not been on-plan this week and was hiding my head in the sand! But, no more hiding.

Ruth - May I ask, what breed are the Girls? I have three tiny fur babies and hubby wants to add a yellow lab to the mix. Oh my! More work for Mommy!
Jetsetter - How exciting to be getting a piano! Do you play? My youngest (7) just told me last week that she wants to play the piano. I've already started thinking of where one could fit in our new house. Maybe Mommy will take lessons, too.
Cottage - Hope you have an awesome Mother's day!
Road2Health - I'm so happy you were able to get a SB cookbook. I really believe that having some delicious recipes has helped to keep me on this plan and helped me to have success. The other night, my DD asked when we were having the Spinach and Goat cheese chicken again? I love that my girls also enjoy this healthy food.
femmecreole - I love my MP3 player! I use it when I walk on the treadmill. I hope yours brings you tons of enjoyment, too.

Today, Hubby and I are making the drive to GA again. 8 hours there and 8 hours back. Yikes! I wish it wasnt so expensive to fly. I am excited, though, as we are meeting with the builder to plan the layout of the basement. We are having the basement finished with a full bathroom and kitchenette for my Mom-in-Law. She will have her own space....as you can imagine, that is a very exciting thing for the whole family! We close on the new house on the 31st. So far, things are going smoothly...I can only hope it continues to do so. Now, if I can just get my act together with staying on-plan. The old habits of using food to de-stress are not completely gone yet.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good Morning Ladies,

Hope everyone's day is going well. Back at work I am enjoying the junk food vicariously through watching my friends enjoy, hahaha. And you know what, its just as good. Dinner last night with friends was fun and easy.

This morning I was looking for something for breakfast and there was nothing in the house, ended up having cottage cheese with celery, not the yummiest. Salmon and seaweed salad for lunch again today, with my mini Perrier. Dinner tonight should be good, going to grill some scallops and have them on a salad. I need to go grocery shopping, but it will have to wait until sunday, as tomorrow is a full day. Driving out to Ontario to visit my friend who is having a BBQ, should be a blast.

It's a beautiful day in Kansas!! Supposed to be a great weekend, too. That's great considering the River Festival starts tonight. I'm not sure if we'll make it or not. I have a hard time mustering the courage to take the girls to places where they may decide to just run away.

The girls made Mother's Day gifts for me at daycare. The oldest has a barely sprouting little plant (poor thing), and the little one got to play with paint and put her handprints on a dish towel. It's the thought that counts. If it wasn't for daycare, I'd be getting a whole lot of nothing...except love and kisses which are the best things anyhow.

cottage - I saw you and Ruth were both on this morning, so I waited around until one of you posted. Maybe someday the girls will take piano lessons, but I'm not going to push either of them.

Road2Health - Great deal on the SBD cookbook! I have a couple of them and l-o-v-e using them. I'm going to have to break 'em out again next week so that I can cook next weekend.

femme - Glad you love your new present! The only way I ever get gifts is to buy them myself. But as big a technogeek as I am, I still don't have an mp3 player.

GirlyGirl - Have fun with your house plans! That sounds like such a fun thing...even if it is a long trip. I used to play piano when I was a kid, but it has been way too long. I'm hoping to pick it up again.

Schatzi - I'm glad you were able to get your hair fixed. I hate bad cuts! It's so embarrassing to go back and say you hate it. That's usually when I find a new stylist.

I'm off to clean up dinner dishes. Have a good weekend!!!
