Default Less Time At Phase 1?

Has anyone spent less than the full 2 weeks on phase one and been successful?

I personally would not recommend that. Your body has to get used to this way of life. I personally dont know anyone that has been successful on less than 2 weeks on it. Its not to say it hasnt happened.

You need the two weeks to de-tox. Are you having problems?

I haven't started yet.

the other times (2) I've done SB, I did phase 1 for about a week and felt rundown, probably not eating enough. And then went to phase 2. But both times before, I found out I was pregnant by week 3 and then with morning sickness... it all was over with!

So, I've never really gone beyond 3 weeks on the plan so I didn't know if I was setting myself up for pitfalls by doing it for only one week.

Ok, that was disturbing.

It takes about two weeks for your body to get over the "dying off" affect of the sugar/carb cravings. It is not uncommon to feel kind of bad while that is happening. It is not because of a lack of food unless you are actually not eating enough. It is because your body is used to getting it's energy from sugar and carbs and now it must find a different scource of energy, such as almonds and other nuts.

I considered doing less than two weeks, but decided not to. I recall reading somewhere that people who excercise intensively a few times a week and diabetics can skip phase 1.

Well I've jumped on into phase 2. I'm nursing and my milk supply has gone way down in the past two days. I was trying to eat only phase 1 foods but eat enough calories (more food than in the "plan" in the book) but I guess that's not good enough. I need more carbs to make milk! So, I'm eating a bowl of super-high-fiber cereal and a WW tortilla or slice of bread each day, I hope I continue to lose.

Phase 1 is not recommended for nursing mothers for this very reason. You should be fine on phase 2 since it is healthy eating. Just make sure you are getting plenty of dairy.

I don't full time nurse so I thought I'd play around with it and see... my DD is on about 1/2 breast milk.
