It's a brand new day, and time to make a brand new start! Today I resolve to stand firm and just say a loud " NO! to my insatiable craving for ice cream. I will not give in to it today! Ok, that said, let's move on to better things.
This morning, first it's Curves, then home for coffee and some breakfast and water the new plants in the perrenial bed. Later, I want to stop by a bakery and look at their selections for a baby shower cake. The shower is next Saturday, and I'd better get the cake ordered. There's something else I needed to do this morning, too, but darned if I can remember what it was!
Good morning, Cottage, and all to come. Thanks for the reminder about perennials. I just remembered the seven I bought on Saturday are still sitting in their pots.
Busy day today with a trip to the fitness centre about to happen. Donna come this morning too and we'll work on clearing kitchen cabinets. Still no really firm date on the reno start but it's looking like Tuesday of next week. I hope to work in some gardening this afternoon and then Lucy and I do pet therapy at 5. It'll be another one of those days when I sort of fall into bed just after nine.
I took an Alavert before going to bed last night, and it seems to have helped tremendously. I can breathe and I don't feel like my head is in a thick fog. Being a bit lazy this morning since I don't have to be to my Catia class until 8:00; I'm usually at work by 7:10. I'm glad it's only one day. Hopefully, it won't be too painful.
Last night's email battle with the ex ended with me telling him that his attorney is a lazy moron. I was being nice about it and didn't actually use those words, but I wanted to so badly! Anyhow, we're heading back to court sometime in the not-so-distant future to hash out child support yet again. As always, it will be an adventure.
Cottage - Good luck with your ice cream demon, I personally am definately still carrying around cold stone creamery somewhere in these thighs! I hope you find some super cute confections for the shower.
Ruth - Sounds like you have a full day, have fun!
Jetsetter - Good to hear your allergies are better, good luck with the ex.
I myself am feeling pretty good this morning. Another day at work in store for me, I am part time right now, but my boss wants me to come in the rest of the week. I have alot of leftovers at work, so I won't have to bring in too much today, maybe some more salmon and some leftover grilled zucchini.
You know I just have to say, I love this! I don't know if it was just the right thing at the right time, but it seems like the weight is just falling off of me. You know I never thought I had a "carb addiction" before because I am not a big bread fan, but let me tell you, I sure can put back a big bowl of rice/risotto or pasta. I am still amazed by how much this plan affect how hungry you feel. OK, I'll shut up now before I start getting repetitive...!
Good Morning EVERYONE!!!
Oh, those allergies are no fun! Just got over the spring pollen mess here..have been sick since april..ick.
I may be able to do a little gardening myself when I get home from job 1 if job 2 clients don't have me bogged down. It's a beautiful day here..the sun is starting to shine through a moss draped oak in my backyard..a gorgeous site.
I played around with my new reel lawnmower yesterday..quite a workout..easy to push, but you have to use muscles to really get it going...the lawn looks great and I'm a little sore in the right places..arms, stomach, butt and legs.
And I really agree on the weight dropping off. My underwear is getting really baggy! I have been very strict and no cheating so far (oh, the temptations, but I just imagine myself in a new "little black dress" and the temptations pass!) I am really proud of myself...my husband is very supportive cause he knows how miserable I have been with this extra poundage. He has NEVER critisized my weight, but I know he'll be happy when I am "me" again. He is very slim, but has really enjoyed the meals we have been having (at least he says so!) He is fairly "picky" about food..His Mother is an excellent cook so he was raised on elaborate meals and I always prepared elaborate meals too..but so far, not one complaint about the food..and when he doesn't like something, he lets me know gently, ie "You may not want to have this again"..that means "yuk"
Everyone sounds busy as usual. I have another busy day, as well. Jet- the whole child support thing is such a headache. My DH and I had our first child before we got married and in the state of Hawai'i if you aren't living together the non-custodial parent needs to pay child support. Needless to say sometime in our 3rd year of marriage, the state began garnishing my DH's paycheck to pay me back child support in excess of $20,000. When I told them we were married, they said I had to have a hearing to tell them that I declined the child support. Oh it was such a pain in the butt. We paid child support to the state for 3 months. I haven't received any of that money back yet. I'm still waiting. Femme and Fresh- I wish I could say that the weight was just melting off but it's not. It is coming off just very slowly. I have a Dr's appt on May 31st to have my thyroid checked. I have a bunch of hypothyroid symptoms and weight loss is just a minor one.
Anyways,
Everyone have a great hump day,
Pohai
femmecreole, your DH sounds like a real gem, hang on to him! Thank goodness Jake is fairly supportive of this WOE, too, and will eat most of the things I make. He doesn't like WW pasta, though, and is very leery about the desserts made with any sort of bean. I usually make him his "white" pasta or potatoes, and I just eat the protein and vegetables. It works well for us.
jet, oh, honey, I really feel for you with those allergies! I used to suffer terribly from them every year, but this year I started something new I had heard about. I have a spoonful of raw, unfiltered, locally made honey every morning, and so far I'm allergy free. It seems to really work! You have to get local honey, though, because it will contain the pollens that are bothering you. I know honey is definitely not OP, but I'm willing to forego that for the relief I'm getting. I've tried about every med and prescription out there, and this works the best for me.
Freshorangina, I'm happy that this diet is working so well for you, and I'm glad you're feeling better, too.
I just made a pot of the Braised Kale w/ Black Beans & Tomatoes to have with a turkey burgers for supper this evening. I'm trying to concentrate on having more fiber in my diet, so I'm going to try to have beans every day. Guess I'd better stock up on Beano!
The sun is shining and it's getting up to the 80s today, hope your weather is just as nice. Get out there and enjoy it.
Ruth: I hope they get that reno started soon! You certainly deserve a beautiful new kitchen!
Cottage: Morning! I could use some of your willpower today - cake in the office - YIKES!
Jet: Glad you're breathing better - that's the worst feeling! Hope the battle with the ex and his moron attorney get their acts together.
Carey: It's so wonderful that you love this plan! A positive attitude about it certainly helps get through the temptation and slip-ups.
Femme: WTG with the baggy undies! (That sounds so weird!) DH will eat anything I make him, so I'm glad for that. It's easy to eat SB while he's stuffin his face with the same thing!
browneyed: I hope you have a great day!
Me: Dh and I had quite a night last night. Apparently, I rolled over in my sleep and hit him where it hurts. Oopsie. He's fine now, but he said he was up for an hour in pain. Then, right before my alarm went off for workout-time, furbaby #2 started throwing up. Unfortunately, our comforter was half on the floor, so some ended up landing there. Yuck. So up-si-daisy and get him cleaned up, the floor cleaned up and the comforter in the washer. I guess the meds Doc gave him for his back don't agree with him. Back to the vet this afternoon for another shot.
On a good note, I did manage a 3-mile walk with my WATP dvd. Also, it's raining here. Just a light, gentle rain that is perfect for the grass we planted in the front yard Monday night. It should be sunny tomorrow, so I'm sure we'll see good, healthy sprouts when we get home tomorrow evening! Yay!
Well, I'd better get to work - big report to do for the State Comptroller's office. Whoopee. Have a great day!
femmecreole, your DH sounds like a real gem, hang on to him!
Yep, he's a great guy..as opposed to husband #1 (13 years). He critisized every little thing I did..not trying to be intentionally mean, but it was just his personality. No matter how perfect it was, it was not perfect enough. He took after his Mother who also loved to critisize me! I am not at all a lazy person..I took care of 3 kids, taught school, cooked all he meals, did all he housework, did yard work, did manual labor when we renovated a house etc..I'm not afraid to work.(he was also very hard working..didn't mean it to sound like he did nothing) He ended up marrying a very demanding woman who does nothing but spend money on herself and does nothing around their house...He has to do it all..paybacks are great, huh?
Luckily my second husband (of 16 years) also takes after his mother and she is a wonderful warm friend who thinks I'm perfect too.
I gained weight after each of my 3 kids and husband #1 let me know after each one that he was unhappy with me and I lost it all each time..(jello butt is not a term of affection in my book)
I weighed 105 when husband 2 and I got married and have gained probably around 60 lbs over the last 10 years. He deseves to have that wife back again.
Good mid-morning beachers! It's been a while, i'm going to try to be better at hitting up the daily thread instead of just lurking about.
Cottage and Ruth, you two always make me envious with your gardening talk. I am good at ruining flowers and grass but I sure can grow a mean weed. I wish I had a handle on how to make my yard look as nice as I imagine you gals to be.
Jet, i'm glad the Alavert is easing your symtoms sounds like it is indeed allergies yur dealing with. Yuck... but I guess its that time of year.
Carey, I'm glad your losing so easily. I'm in am, amazement at how fast the poundage is melting off me as well. I started on March 24th
femme, congrats on the baggy underwear. Go get some that fit better.. its fun Great work staying on plan.
Kim, ouch for DH, glad he is ok but couldn't help but giggle just a tad.
I have just run out of time and need to get my rear ready for work! It's going to be a gorgeous day outside and i'll be stuck inside. Figures!
Hi Everyone! Just popping in to say 'Hi.' I love reading this thread and getting a peek into everyone's life!
Today, I am playing catchup on my work. Yesterday, I was on the phone for a big part of my work day trying to coordinate our big move to GA. With selling this house, buying a new house that is 8 hours drive time away and trying to coordinate the transfer of our business phone lines and internet connections....to a house that is just now finished construction!...things have been extremely hectic. I must confess that I'm not handling the stress very well. My scales are up by 2 pounds. I ate Taco Bell for lunch yesterday and Papa John's for dinner. Today, I am so sick! My stomach is acidy and I have indigestion. Yuck! I sure hope I've learned a big lesson.
Well, I better try to get rid of some of the work backlog. ttyl.
Kim, ouch for DH, glad he is ok but couldn't help but giggle just a tad.
Don't tell him, but I giggle every time I think about it. Poor thing. Apparently it was a closed-fist direct hit. Yikes! Too funny, but not so funny that I'd risk laughing about it in front of him.
I don't have time to answer everyone but I wanted to take time to post something. I've been swamped since I got back from Wood badge. I've dived straight into Twilight Camp. I thought I had certain things handled but then district asked me for more quotes on things like port-a-potties. I still have to get quotes for things like the storage area (POD) and the bus to transport the 800+ people from the parking lot. I'm down to only a month before camp and I'm really nervous.
Wood Badge was wonderful. It was a ton of work but so much fun. I really feel such a heart connection with the rest of the staff.
Eating was off plan while at camp but I was active enough that I didn't gain any weight. Thank goodness!
Good morning, everyone! I'm so enjoying getting to know you all through these posts!
Cottagebythesea - good luck killing the ice cream demon today! I get haunted by him occasionally, too!
Ruthxxx - it sounds like you have a great, full day planned!
Jetsetter - I'm sorry about the ex troubles. But yay for your Alavert helping things a bit!
Freshorangina - I couldn't agree with you more! I have been amazed by how easy this plan is to stick to! I'm glad it's going so well for you!
Femmecreole - It's so great that your husband is so supportive! He definitely sounds like a gem!
Browneyedgirl77 - I hope your doctor has some answers for you about your thyroid!
Kim_Star060404 - I totally had to giggle about your "direct hit" to your husband's sensitive area. Poor guy! Good job with the WATP workout, though! It sounds like you turned your rough start around into a good day!
Ooopsmyhalofelloff - I hope you get to go outside and enjoy a bit of your lovely day!
GirlyGirlSebas - I know how that goes. When things get busy with my business, taking care of myself is usually the first thing that suffers. (Hence why I am where I am!) I hope today goes a little smoother for you!
Barb0522 - It sounds like you're busy, but still doing great!
I hope I didn't miss anyone!
I'm on Day 6 of Phase 1, and as of this morning, I've lost 10 pounds!!! I had a little pang of longing last night, when my hubby and daughter had sundaes after our dinner at Applebees. But I thought about how far I've come in such a short time, and I didn't even have a taste. I am SO proud of myself for that!
My plans for today are to work for a while, then clean my house, because I have an appointment this afternoon. (I work from home.) Nothing too exciting. I'm not exercising yet, because I want to settle into Phase 1 first, before I add that, but I may take a short walk if the sunshine keeps up.
