Hello everyone

I was surprised to see a PCOS section on this forum but I'm glad it's here. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 8 years ago and never gave it much thought until recently. I'm 22 now and I do gain weight easily and have trouble taking it off and also have trouble with acne despite being on birth control for 8 years. Lately I have been succeeding at losing weight but I feel this is mostly due to go to the gym 5 days a week.
So some questions for you all..
In the last 1-2 years I've been having a lot of symptoms of someone who is diabetic. Specifically I am often dehydrated, and have to urinate every 1-2 hours, I also have occasional mildy blurry vision. I was tested for diabetes but came out negative, still I wonder if these symptoms may be related to the PCOS and if losing weight would help the symptoms? Also are there specialists you can go to for PCOS? I feel my doctor has limited knowledge on this subject and would like to either get a new doctor or talk to someone with more experience. Is there any sort of medication for PCOS besides birth control that may help some of these symptoms that anyone has taken?
I'm also generally confused about what insulin resistance is.
Thanks for any help!
