Default I Hate My Body!!!

All my friends say I look so great after loosing weight, but I don’t feel great. With clothes on I look great, but without clothes, my body is saggy and mushy. I have stretch marks, saggy arms and thighs, and my mid section is just big. I also have cellulite on my buttocks and thighs, and love handles on my back and sides. I seriously don’t know what else to do. I want to begin toning up, but realistically that is not going to work for me. I love the fact that I can wear cute clothes, but I don’t like that fact that my body is not toned and beautiful.

I was considering surgery but I’m broke and I’m scared that outcome would be worser than it is now. I mean I want to do it, but I know that it wont happen. I also am trying to push myself harder to tone up, but its not working, what can I do, help me please????

Gosh, motivation86, you have done fabulously well with weight loss! I just have to cheer for you!

But I'm sorry you are uncomfortable about your body. I haven't lost nearly as much as you, but I do have sagging places. I'm hoping some of the other Big Losers we have will check in and post for you. I know some have opted for surgery, but others have not. Sometimes the skin gets better with time--for some people.

Why is toning up not going to work for you?

Check back on this thread for awhile and see what others can offer.

There are certain things that you CAN'T tone up........ like an enormous amount of extra skin. That won't go away with exercise or lotions or pills. Only surgery can take care of that. I have had many surgeries done in order to give me as close to a normal 23 yr old's body as I can have........ and the outcome has been great!

That being said, some people prefer to keep their extra skin as a badge of honor and tribute to all of the weight that they have lost.

If you really want surgery I would advise you research surgeons and then go for a consult. Many offer financing programs.

Regardless of all that, I just want to say GOOD WORK on losing all the weight that you have!!!
Try to focus on the positive and look at how far you have come. I mean, for health reasons (and vanity reasons) "squishy" at your weight now is better than squishy at your start weight! Also, you can flounce around in cute summery clothing now!!! Look at how far you have come. Congrats!

I weigh 200lbs and have saggy places on my body, too. 200 lbs isn't really the lowest weight in the world, so it's expected to have saggy places...

You can't HATE yourself because you don't feel comfortable in a swimsuit!
There is more to you as a person than your body shape. Never forget that. Don't base your value of yourself as an individual based on your appearance.

But....... I DO understand where you are coming from. I am 7 years older than you and still feel like I want to be thin and pretty and flirty and wear a bikini (who knows, maybe I'll even wear one at Island Beach State Park this year!) It sucks when you feel like you aren't as "thin and pretty" as the other girls--- especially when you are young (and when I was 16 I weighed about 220lbs, so I doooo understand what that is like).
But, girl, from your avatar you are as cute as a button!! And you have decided to make a committment to weight loss. So no matter how much/little you lose you can still feel good about yourself for at least trying to be a healthier person with a proper diet and exercise. Some girls have it soooo easy and just naturally are able to eat and never exercise and weigh 100lbs. Well, good for them, but for most of us it requires alot of hard work.
But, you can do it!

I understand...When I was 160 (90 pounds weightloss), my stomach was kind of mushy and looking just blah (I'm sure it'll happen again for me). But I'm aware that when I'm done with weight loss that I'll need skin reduction for my stomach and arms.

One day you'll have the money for it...(just put away any extra money you have...or even see if insurance will pay for it).

But would you rather be a little mushy here and there, than to be your old weight? I'd rather be mushy XD

Don't worry about it so much!! It's amazing you've lost what you have! So don't stress about the little things and do what you can about them. If nothing can be done...Don't worry about it! Enjoy yourself!

This may not be what you want to hear since it's implying that some aspects won't get better, but almost all women have cellulite and stretch marks-- I've seen pictures of Mischa Barton (who is like 90 pounds) with cellulite on her thighs and Reese Witherspoon has admitted to having both. So they aren't something to be agonizing over, they're actually totally normal!

I agree with the above post. It's like...an evil victory of mine when I see the small girls at school wit stretch marks. I see them on their waists and on the back of their arms.

I know what you mean about the loose skin. It is very depreesing when I look at my self nakie. I have learned to tuck and lift with clothes. I even found a 2-piece bathing suit that is almost flattering. I look at it this way, when I was overweight I hated my body with or without my clothes on. Now I love my body with clothes on and I am learning that as long as I keep toning and watching my weight I am doing the best I can. I have to just accept myself with all this loose skin. Eventually you will either learn to accept it, have plastic surgery, or not accept it and gain all your weight back.

Gamerchick ~ I was (am again) one of those small chicks that had/has stretch marks on my upper thighs. Even though I wear a size 4, I've always thought of myself as having 'thunder thighs'.

Everyone has something they don't like about their body, no matter how much weight they lose. I chose now to focus on what I like about my body.
