Default Do you do more than 1 dvd/video?

I have WATP 1/2 mile combo, 3/4 combo and the 5 mile challenge/advanced kit. I thought I'd be getting different workouts with the 5 mile kit. It's just a combination of all the others. It's no big deal.

However, I wanted to give my body a different sort of movement. I've been renting dvds from the library. I've discovered that I really like the Fat Burning for Dummies dvd. So, I do several segments of that followed by 1 mile of the WATP. My body is finding new places to ache. It's a good ache, but an ache nonetheless.

Do any of you use more than 1 or make combo workouts?

What is WATP? I have the start of my own exercise video library. Right now I am rotating 4 different video's a boot camp, dance mix, pilates, and yoga. the video I do for the day just depends on what can hold my attention for the day some time I do two in the same day.

I started out with WATP 1 mile and eventually when I built up some stamina and did 2-2 miles DVD and then a 2 miles and 3 mile. I tried the 4 mile and just got bored listening to her for an hour.

I moved on to the prevention fitness videos and the firm cardio DVDs. I try a combination of DVDs that adds up to 40-60 min a day (I workout 3-5 times a week).

Since I added in jari love (strength training) my workout runs about 90 min-2 hours depending on what I am trying to do that day.

For me it works fine because by the time I am tired of doing the same thing it is time to switch. The only annoying this is when the warmup isn't a seperate section.

Not sure if that answered your question, but there it goes.

Added Later

I will say that I try and stick to things that are at least 20-40 min. So if the DVD has 3 10min sections for instance I do at least 20 min. Anything less and it seems like a waste. 40 min or more and I am ready to move on.

I've found that besides my turbo jam collection I really like the cheap videos I get at the dollar store or from the dollar rack at walmart. They give just as much of a work out for a lot less money. Also, the dollar dvds have exercise gurus w/ funny accents which makes it more fun to do (IMO).

Why is that? It would make it so much easier if it was.

Not sure if that answered your question, but there it goes.

You most definitely answered my questions.

OK. I thought I was the only one getting bored after about a half hour of the same thing. Especially Leslie's chatter.

Thank you ladies. I thought I was the only one getting bored with the same workouts day after day. Also, while I like my WATP workouts, I can only take Leslie's chatter for so long. Only 1 dvd gives the option to have music only and that music is kinda funky.

I have a ton of workout DVDs but workout DVDs are actually not my main form of exercise, they are just a supplement.

On any given day, I may do my elliptical, do some weights or pick a workout DVD. I think it is good to switch up your workout every once in a while. Even from my workout DVDs, I try to do different ones rather than the same one every time. I love my "The Firm" workouts most of all. I also love Crunch Fat Burning Pilates which is a gentle workout for days I don't want to do too much as well as my belly dancing DVDs.

Cbmare-Sometimes I do the warmup on all the DVDs I do, but as my workout runs longer or I am short on time I like to be able to skip the warms if it is the second or thirs DVD.

I love Leslie because she got me moving, but I find I had memorized all her talking points and I just needed variety. I love Chris Freytag. I am looking for another series I can get into...thinking about turbojam.

Oh, YES!

I love using DVDs! I have quite a few and use them over and over in all different combinations. I love variety!

My current favorites are HipHopAbs, Turbo Jam, WATP, Iron Yoga, and Core Secrets. I also do various moves during commercials and while I'm watching TV in the evenings as an added bonus to my exercise program.

I have lots of workout DVDs/VHSs. I use some more than others. I used to only do one 30 minute tape per day. I usually workout 4-5 times a week. Now that I've built up my stamina some, I do 60-90 minutes, but I still like some of the 30 minute workouts, so I mix them up. For example, today I did the warmup and first two songs from a richard simmon's tape I like (Broadway Blast-Off), then I did YBB Cardio Cabaret, then went back and finished the last two songs from the first tape. I love YBB but I need more of a warm-up and cool-down than they give. So it's great to mix it up.

I get bored if I do the same workout over and over, so I mix it up a lot. I have lots of different choices. I have some Richard Simmons, YBB, WATP, some yoga, some pilates, and a couple of different cardio dance tapes. I also have an elliptical, and I'm thinking about getting a treadmill to start the C25K program. I've also thought about getting the turbo jam tapes, but I don't know. I keep track of what workouts I do and when. I try not to do the same workout more than once a week. So I get variety and don't get bored. So far it's worked well for me.

I generally do a WATP(at the this stage i have only had 1 mile plus 2 mile, i just got walk and kick and walk and jog today!)- plus a pilates 20 minute routine later on - as others have said - these workout videos are just one day a week of my exercise routine- one day I do a 1 hour gym workout, another day an aqua class, another day a pilates class at the gym, if i go to the gym another day I work out with the equipment - exercise videos are what i do on my off day from the gym.

One thing that Ive found that gets me through Leslie's chatter is muting the TV and playing my own CDs...makes the workout FLY by and I dont have to hear a word!

I have several work out dvd's and I vary them from day to day. I'm thinking about buying The Girls Next Door DVD, I heard that it has some martial arts on it. I also want to buy a belly dancing dvd and the next Carmen Electra Dvd. I also have the Fit Tv network at home and I like to do the All Star Workouts, unless you need equipment.
