Default Is cheerios a bad choice for breakfast?

I am counting calories now and I have been eating this cereal Cheerios every morning with low fat non sugar added yogurt
Do you think is a bad choice? The label said whole grain, only 1 gm of sugar per serving.
Thanks oh and it is only 100 calories per serving

I bought Cheerios today because it's recommended in Superfoods Rx .... it's the oats. I like them because they can be a snack/finger food too.

Hi that depends on what kind of nutrition you are looking for in a breakfast.
I like mine to have protein and fiber. I would not choose cheerios because it has only 3 grams of fiber. I choose fiber one and one of the kashi high fiber cereals mixed together with lowfat soy milk. I sometimes top it with berries.
It fills me up and I had the nutrition I want.

I eat whole grain cheerios with skim milk for breakfast sometimes. I like them and don't feel they are bad for me.

I did see where I could get a free sample of Kashi Go Lean Cereal and ordered it to give it a try.

I go between Cheerios and Oatmeal every single day for the last two years and my cholesterol level has dropped way down, and I also love both of them.

Everybody has to find what works for themselves. YOU have to find a breakfast that will keep you satisfied. Me personally, I always called Cheerios, air food. They just don't satisfy me. But that's just me. If you are enjoying them - then great. I perfer a cereal with a higher protein content and more fiber. I find it more beneficial for me. It keeps me way fuller for way longer. I mix 1/2 cup Fiber One with 1/2 cup Kashi Go Lean.

the truth is that I dont suffer of hungry. I am not a hungry person. I can stay normal amounts of time without snacking. now if you tell me that I CAN'T have something like lets say bread that is all I want !!!!
So the problem is not really that I feel hungry but if it is a good choice. Well I am changing my breakfast tomorrow to alternate with some low cal bread with more fiber and an omellete made with eggs substitute (low fat and veggies)
Thanks!

I don't eat them for breakfast either. I have them in my bag for work. I'll eat them when I'm doing my charting later.

I was reading an article about how what counts is the amount of calories vs the type of food you eat, so basically is calories in vs calories out.
As I said, I never get ravenous. I guess I am used to eat little BUT when I was doing low carb, I missed cereal and fruit too much....
So I prefer to eat a little bit every day than to not eat it at all

Personally, Cheerios are a bad choice for me because they don't fill me up. I think they are a perfectly fine food, but after an hour I'm starving again. I prefer whole grain toast with peanut butter, that fills me up for 3 hours!

I don't think Cheerios are a bad choice nutritionally (at least the whole grain ones, I'm not sure I'd say the same thing about the frosted or honey ones), so if you find them satisfying, go for it. I don't think it's a mistake.

Personally, I don't find them filling enough (I agree with whoever called them air food), but then Glory's breakfast of one piece of toast and peanut butter wouldn't be filling enough for me either. I need more volume in my breakfast. But the yogurt you are eating for breakfast would be very filling for me and, in fact, is something that I eat every day (although not always for breakfast).
