Default Tuckin' Into Tuesday!

Mornin All!

Just sitting here watching the sun come up and enjoying the cool breeze. Yesterday it actually got hot, I let the girls go wading in the creek that wanders through their farm. They got covered in mud and terrorized a froggie, but they had a ball.
Nothing very exciting is happening here today. I have to wait around this morning for yet another call from a computer tech, I hope he can come today or tomorrow. I got rather spoiled using my laptop, and can't wait for it to be completely repaired. I should have made sure the keyboard was working properly before letting the technician leave last week, but I thought that was his job!
The clock says it's time to blow-dry my hair and run to Curves, I'll be back later!

Make it a great day!

Good Morning!

Cottage - Enjoy your Curves visit and good luck with your computer repairs. One would think the guy would have made sure everything was in working order before he left last time...especially on a laptop where there are no extra wires to connect.

Me - I'm fighting a case of the Idontwannas already today. Set my alarm for 4:00, but didn't get up until E woke up at 4:30. I got her back to sleep and then showered, but I didn't get my workout in as planned. As much as my brain wants to, my body will not cooperate. What's my problem? Lack of motivation or lack of sleep? I tend to think it's the latter. I get 6-7 hours on average, and I know it's not enough. That's with getting up at 5:00. Getting up at 4:00 cuts me down to 5-6...assuming the kiddo sleeps through the night (which never ever happens). I just can't do it. Maybe I'll tackle 4a.m. again someday. For now, it's just not going to happen. I'm not going to force myself. As long as I'm getting the work done, does it really matter WHEN it gets done? The girls will get used to me working out in the afternoon. Right now, I know it's difficult for them. They're not used to me doing my own thing and pushing them aside for any amount of time. I hope that as they learn that I'm a happier (not to mention healthier) mommy after getting my routine in, and a lot more fun that way, they'll let me do my thing. I know it's tough on them. But with change comes growth...I'm sure of it. Hey, maybe they'll even join me one of these days.

I'm off to get dressed and wake the munchkins. No clue what today holds. Whatever it is, I hope it doesn't require too much brain power.

Good sunshiny morning. We had out first thunderstorm of the season late yesterday with high winds. There doesn't seem to be any damage though and the deck has nearly dried off completely. It'll be a "clean paw" day!

Yesterday was definitely warm here too, Cottage. I did some garden work - it's so frustrating not to be able to kneel. However, Eric, my 14 year old neighbour, came down and did raking and hauling of stuff to the compost pile. He also got rid of the huge pine branches so one of my yard area looks good. Today I'll get him at the dog yard which will cut down on the stuff my Girls bring in on their coats. Hershey loves to roll in the pine needles and comes in all bristly.

I felt too cruddy yesterday to go to the gym so will get back on my schedule tomorrow. Food will be stellar today as I continue to recover from the Syrup Festival and the Brother Dave Festival!

Have a shiny day.

Default motivation to work out

I'm having a heck of time gettin the motivation to work out. I just started and a part of me wants to see if SBD will work w/o strenuous workouts. I regularly walk the dog 2 times a day. UGH, did anyone else feel alittle run down after the first day?

Good Tuesday Morning Chickadees!

Are ya up and movin'? Is the coffee on? Well, bring me some! Please!

cottage: Sounds like the girls had a lot of fun playing in the creek (mud). Sometimes I wish I wasn't an adult so people wouldn't stare when I did that stuff! Hope the computer technician comes through this time. Wow - service people in your area don't seem to be very thorough, do they?

jet: I think you're doing the right thing. Cutting into your sleep with everthing you do for the kiddos is a lot for your body to take. I'm sure they'll figure out that mommy needs "me" time and let you workout unhindered soon!

Ruth: A day out in the garden sounds good! I can't wait until we get something going in the new yard! WTG getting back OP after this weekend - I would have lost all willpower at the Syrup festival! (Oh, and YAY for the new kitchen coming soon! )

ducgirl: What your feeling right now is super common! The first three days of SB usually find me in a grouchy, flu-symptomed mess. DH knows to stay away from me! I think SB without strenuous workouts is the way to go. As long as you get some form of aerobic exercise in (I'm walking), you're doing something good for your body! Have a great day!

ME: I got scared for a minute there, thought I'd lost my last post. Phew.

Got up at 6 this morning and walked 2 miles, did some dishes, got a good breakfast in (P1) and just need to finish posting, make the bed and get ready for work. Work may be a long day today. I might be working until 7 or 8 tonight. Good thing I made the Taco Bake last night for dinner. DH will have something good to eat if I'm not home.

DH and I were talking last night about the internet, and I just don't know if I can get rid of it. We're already going from satellite to cable tv (not entirely a bad thing with the weather out here). Plus, I'm going to get rid of satellite radio, and our Netflix subscription and possible my booksfree subscription (like Netflix, but with books). I'm trying to cut down on internet time at work, so getting rid of it at the house may mean being cut off from all of you! I can't have that! Well, we'll have to pray and think about it and see what happens. (That $75 "transfer fee" att&t charges isn't helping my case!)

Well, enough mindless blabber - time to post a journal, shower and GET TO WORK! Yeehaw!

Adios mis amigas, hasta manana (o mas pronto!)

Good morning!

Just taking a few minutes to post before beginning my work day. I really need to focus today and get a lot accomplished. Yesterday was just one of those days for me when concentration was difficult....too much commotion. I plan on breaking for lunch and going to the 'Y' again. I'm finding that the exercise is a 'must' for me to lose the weight. Just one of the benefits of getting older!

cottage: I've never been on a farm. I'd love the opportunity to wade in a creek and get muddy. It sounds like such fun!
jetsetter: As a Mommy to two girls..ages 11 and 7...I can tell you that one of the greatest gifts you can give them is a healthy Mommy. By seeing you exercise, you are showing them how to live healthier and setting an awesome example. They will adapt. Children are more malleable than we often realize.
ruth: I'm just amazed that you actually found a 14 year old that isnt afraid to work! They sure raise them differently in your neck of the woods.
ducgirlm620: It is very typical to feel run down at the beginning of Southbeach. Your body is purging itself of the toxins from you previous unhealthy diet. Just hang in there....you will be amazed at how awesome you will feel in a week or so. I wouldnt worry too much about the exercise right now.
Kim: I will be praying that God lets you keep your internet. I know what a blessing this site is to me and I hope you get the opportunity to keep posting with us.

I'm back! I'm going to miss my Aunt from Minnesota joining me at Curves, they're going back home today. After I dropped her at mom and dad's, I stopped for gas and got a big coffee at Wawa, which I'm enjoying with my yogurt w/strawberries and a piece of toast. Yum, want some?

Kim, yeah, the repairmen around here only are in it for the money. He fixed the problem with the monitor, but I discovered later that the keyboard wouldn't let me type. It burns me up, because it's a new computer. I shouldn't be having any problems at all! If anything else goes wrong with it after this, I'm demanding a new one! I never thought I'd be so dependent on the internet, but I'd be lost without it now. I hope all works out well with you!

ducgirlm, as Kim pointed out, it's common to feel rundown the first few days. Hang in there, you'll soon have your energy back and will be raring to go!

Ruth, sunshine and gardening seem to go hand-in-hand, don't they? I'm going to try to get a little gardening in before I leave this morning.

Jet, don't get stressed about your workout, as long as you fit it in sometime during the day, it doesn't matter what time. You have a pretty full schedule as it is, being a single mom and holding down a full-time job. I'll bet you're a great mom to your two little girls! I'm so glad that the day-care arrangement is working out for you, too, I guess that's a lot off your mind!

I'm off to see what I can get accomplished before I go to work. Take care!

Good Morning Chicks,

Cottage: I love frogs and you talking about the girls wading sounded so much like my childhood that I might just have to go to my Mom and Dad's house and get in the creek I had computer issues too. My new Dell wasn't getting online like it was supposed to wirelessly. After an hour and a half on the phone with Dell...it is working great. Good luck to you with that.

Jetsetter: You need "You" time, but I know that can be hard. Involve your kids in the exercise...I used to love working out with my Mommy to her Jane Fonda album.

ducgirlm620: I personally waited a month to start working out. I let my body adjust to the new way of metabolizing fuel. Besides, as you were asking, the first week I felt completely fatigued and worn down. I also had bad headaches from the detox process. I have lost 17 pounds, so I am happy!

Kim: You have a good day. I know how hard it can be to cut costs. I have been ignoring it for too long. I really need to pay my debt down, but I keep procrastinating about it. I just keep paying the minimums...I need to get my butt in gear.

Rhonda: I called the "Y" yesterday and am planning on seeing a personal trainer. I don't even have a clue where to start. I have a free membership because the university where I work has a partnership with them. I am silly not to use it

Me: Today is a crazy day. I probably won't get home from work until about 10 tonight. Luckily the housekeeper is coming today...that is always refreshing and nice to come home to ultra clean.

I started a new exercise DVD last night..."Core Rhythms". All I can say is "Wow!" I did 15 minutes and was about to die. Those chicks work your butt hard. All that hip wigglin' really makes you sore. DH liked watching the DVD I felt pretty discouraged myself, because I feel so out of shape...but you have to start somewhere, right?

I need to get to work, but I wanted to really post today. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning chicks! Umm, For all of you working out YAY! I keep insisting I'm going to start- which leads to my next question- How do all of you get up at the butt crack of dawn??? Today I was up at 6:45 and that was early but just couldn't get motivated to get out of bed. I stayed there until 8 (let the boy sleep in since I was driving him to school today)
JET- I agree with Rhonda that you are setting a good example for your kids. I know it's difficult, we all do but just do what you can and hopefully they will start to give you that time. One of the main reasons I want to get my weight under control is so that I'm not raising my kids in the same insane yo yo dieting enviroment I was. When I was 19 and joined the army I weighed in the day I got my ID card at 124- I was a lifeguard all summer before I left and I wore a shirt and shorts over my guard suit every day b/c I thought I was FAT!!! All b/c I was raised in a house where the standards were too high my mom who is almost 48 now is dieting to get down to 120 (she's 5'7") I'm like- you are RIDICULOUS!! You aren't 18, you 48- get a realistic grasp on things. She is like 140 now. I just don't want my daughter to grow up always feeling like she isn't thin or pretty b/c I have placed these ideas in her.
My son is from my previous marriage and his dad's family are all overweight adults. When I married him (he was 20) he was 6'2" and weighed 210 NOW he's just about 300 lbs. He eats like crap and never gets his @$$ off the couch, I want my son to be raised healthier so he has a better chance of fighting off the genetic predisposition to obesity that he is likely to inherit. We need to set good examples for them so they are not doing what we're doing right now.
BOY, sorry about that, I guess I needed to say that.
My excercise goal is to get up early enough for a 20 minute walk everyday and to do the pilates 100. Any work out I do in addition to this will just be a bonus until I am used to moving EVERY day. Then I will up the ante a little. But for now, I just gotta get moving.
Lots of work on my desk, I'll shout at you chicks around lunch time.

OH, and SUNNY, I get the out of shape bit. I got Carmen Electra's Strip Tease Aerobics DVD (which is cute and NOT so risque as you might expect from her) and here I am circling my HUGE hips and you can see the hip bones of all the girls on the dvd. It's so unmotivating b/c you're like, I look like an idiot!! The only thing I can say is that if we keep up whether we look ridiculous or not they will become easier and eventually we'll be hot like that! I started using a mirror to see if I was doing stuff right and it was just more scary NO MORE MIRRORS!!! Keep up with the good work!

GirlyGirl: Thanks for the prayers! It will really be a struggle, but I think we'll be able to pull it off. I hope you're getting all your niggles done today -- I'm sending you some concentration vibes!!

Cottage: Mmmm, your breakfast sounds delish! Isn't it so much easier to workout with a buddy?!

ladybug: Sending a lot of hugs and love your way! You've come so far -- you really are an inspiration! I'm sure you'll get out of this funk! Try and have a wonderful day!

Sunny: Could you send that cleaning lady my way? I'm really dreading all the cleaning I have to do this week! Hope work is okay in spite of being so long! I hear you on the workout videos -- do they have to be so dang attractive to men?! Luckily, some of the moves impress DH enough that he's just proud of me at the end. Thank goodness!

tifanicole: I don't think there's a secret to getting up early. I HATE doing it, but I know that I do my best workouts in the morning and force myself to get up. It doesn't hurt that my alarm is SUPER loud and DH hates it when I hit the snooze too many times. I think it is great you are trying to be a positive role model for your son. So many people these days don't take their health into consideration when raising their children and that's why so many kids are dealing with obesity. There, that was my , I'll step off now!

Well, have a great day. I love having time to chatter, but we're getting ready to get down to business at work, so it will be short-lived. Have a great day, and just in case, here's some

~Kim

And, I'm sure there is a ton of awesome things about you that we don't even know yet. Keep your chin up!
