Unhappy upsetting poem

ive just read this poem, its made me really upset. its makes me realise how lucky i was and how lucky joshua is to have parents who care. its really very touching and its made me wanna do something more to help. i already give £4 a month to the NSPCC but now id like to do somthing more. what do u all think of the poem

My name is Chris

I am three,

My eyes are swollen

I cannot see,

I must be stupid

I must be bad,

What else could have made

My daddy so mad?

I wish I were better

I wish I weren't ugly,

Then maybe my mommy

Would still want to hug me.

I cant do a wrong

I cant speak at all

Or else im locked up

All day long.

When im awake im all alone

The house is dark

My folks aren't home

When my mommy does come home

I'll try and be nice,

So maybe ill just get

One whipping tonight.

I just heard a car

My daddy is back

From Chariles bar.

I hear him curse

My name is called

I press myself

Against the wall

I try to hide

From his evil eyes

Im so afraid now

I'm starting to cry

He finds me weeping

Calls me ugly words,

He says its my fault

He suffers at work.

He slaps and hits me

And yells at me more,

I finally get free

And run to the door

Hes already locked it

And i start to bawl,

He takes me and throws me

Against the hard wall

I fall to the floor

With my bones nearly broken,

And my daddy continues

With more bad words spoken,

"I'm sorry!", I scream

But its now much to late

His face has been twisted

Into a unimaginable shape

The hurt and the pain

Again and again

Oh please God, have mercy!

Oh please let it end!

And he finally stops

And heads for the door

While i lay there motionless

Sprawled on the floor

My name is Chris

I am three,

Tonight my daddy

Murdered me

That is so so sad.. and it happens all the time... that's the saddest thing... it needs to stop. Thanks for sharing. Kids are so precious and we should all love them unconditionally.

Very moving , thanks for sharing that. I try and support children's charities as that is the cause which touches me most being a Mum.

That's such a sad poem
It's a shame we can't donate directly to social services - my mum is a social worker and she says when the NSPCC get a case they just refer it to the local Social Services department in that area.
She gets quite annoyed that they get all this money when her department is so stretched that they can't cope with the volume. She works in one of the worst areas in the country for child abuse and neglect.

Nicolae
I've just had a good weep.
I'm just reading this after dropping Matthew off at school. We were a bit late and all the people we passed on the way there did'nt have school uniform on.
He just remembered they were supposed to wear old clothes for pond dipping today!!!
I have'nt had a letter, so he said they just let them know in service yesterday morning. He had just forgotten to tell me, but being a master blame shifter decided it was my fault because he had tried to tell me and I would'nt listen!!!
I was so mad I just dropped him off, were as I usually park the car and see him across the road.
I do wish I'd brought him back to get changed after reading this.
